Pitt has kept a lead on Samford, but hasn't managed to pull away, with 6:00 to go. Five point lead. Samford is kenpom #332, so about the level of competition of MVSU.

Probably because he's the ultimate underdog. And likeable in a goofy/awkward sort of way. And if I recall correctly, even though he grew up in Texas, he was born in Indiana.

I think this will get framed as a failure of the academic department more than the athletic department, and the NCAA will impose a slap on the wrist, at worst. Lame.

This is going to be an interesting wrinkle for recruiting. Imagine other schools trying to win over someone that's also considering UT, now.
