 I worked in New Albany and at one time there were probably 70 or so people there.Of those I would say 90 % were UL or UK fans only a couple IU fans.This is in Indiana.I Don't recall 1 single Purdue fan.  I guess that's why I hate UK and at this point starting to feel the same about UL.Never gave the boilers much thought unless we were playing them. Looks like the rest of the state is catching up !  Purdont :sarcastichand:

  I remember him sitting out but for some reason it seems to me that the choice for the game to miss came from Bobby. All about the pettiness of it all so I made him sit against the most rotten program of all time.  I could be wrong ,that was a long time ago but I definitely remember coach Knight making that point  when asked. Very uncharacteristically he was pissed.

Just wish he had that going with the bigs.Other than 2 high school All Americans who were surefire hits he's been woefully lacking there.

 I agree and from what we've heard and  what I've seen so far , albeit very little he will bring  leadership and toughness that looked to be lacking somewhat last season. Big strong guard with a sweet stroke on top of it. I was in shock when I heard we were looking at him but now I think he will be an asset to the team.

I watched the Canadian games  and  saw several instance's where the break wasn't there and they actually made several passes till they got the open look.That to me was very encouraging. I just wish they would loose the play where the lead guard penetrates, flies thru the air and passes to someone in the corner who may or may not  be there.It drives me insane.

Didn't Purdue offer him also?

 I thought about it a little more after I started it and I could see where a so called expert would see it that way outside looking in. I not surprised as much doubtful we will be that bad. I really feel like last year was a train wreck..There was definitely some underlying issues with that team and I think the cause of those are gone now.At least on the squad side of things.  Coupled with 5 new shooters on this team I see great promise and also think the big man issue is being a little overblown.  Just my opinion and we all know about those things.  And beside that I was getting tired of talking about Bigs in boots! :biggrin:

  If we finish 7th on under in what looks to be a slightly weaker league than I agree its buyout time. That being said this looks to be the kind of roster that CTC has had success with so I really think we will surprise. I also agree with Rebel that if it comes to a hire it had better be  damn good  because we've been thru enough of the other type to last a lifetime. I'm already frayed and fraying fast! :(      Go Hoosiers!

  I agree that Hanner's progress will be the key.I also think he should have played more last year. i would say that was a Crean thing along with the mob subbing  and the lack of successful inbound plays.I'm not anti Crean by any means but hope that kind of coaching is over.If not maybe it is time to sharpen the forks.

Same Here. I totally understand the reason people look at these signings and say WTF. I was one of them. i just think the kid ought to be given a chance to prove us wrong.Sorry if that came across as self righteous.Didn't mean to.I'm a little sensitive tonight!! :help:

I"m not talking about critiquing a current player like Troy. I'm sure moms heard about the handles.I just cant believe people would criticize a kid they have never seen before they play a game in the Hall. If they stink up the place then I might be of different mind.

   This is that wild ride i was talking about    When i was a kid we got the newspaper and read in the fall Johnny Hotshot signed with IU. Then Johnny was going to kick some Ky A$$! We didn't know all the shenanigans that went on to get so said Hotshot. I liked that better because I hadn't picked the kid apart ahead of time.Plenty of time for that later.  But here I am right in the middle of it.

   Me Too. I think there was something going on with the 25 undeserved minutes an end of season  transfer was getting compared to 7 minutes the next possible All BIG center mid season  transfer was getting. .Now they're both gone and we're recruiting big guys.
