#3- How do his manic-psychotic clapping mannerisms help out IU positively in any way? Please explain. Do they make his team play more poised and confident? (Joke)
I was at the IU-UofL game when Crean received a warning for going outside the coaches box and Louisville fans at the garden went wild, meanwhile I was embarrassed. When you have X-number of Louisville fans laughing at your coach for acting like a high school coach in one of the biggest bball venues in the world it helps change your perspective.Speaking of coaches going outside their designated boxes...

Calbert Cheaney partying too much?! I doubt it...
True story; Calbert actually got RMK to stop cursing around him. Coach was going off a profanity laced tirade and Calbert calmly told him something along the lines of, "Coach, I understand you're angry at my mistakes, but I want you to tell me without cursing because it offends my Christian values."

I hope I don't get killed for this, but it's probably best that he's more "quiet" now. The Devin that ran into traffic needed a change. I respect the hell out of him for realizing that.
Posters on this site overreact and attack other posters??? No way, that would never happen or be tolerated...

I'm sure Coach Crean must have something saying the zone is effective... some stats, +/- or whatever, right?
I do recall noticing during a second viewing of the game, the announcers make note of IU switching to the 2-3 zone when IU was up 50-40. As we all know, that was when Illinois started their 21-2 run... It didn't help IU's defense that Illinois was shooting uncharacteristically well. I get that the zone is supposed to hide IU's smaller front line and all, but without the presence of a shot blocker/rim protector, the guards really cannot afford to do the "matador defense".

I thought Cody was born in Washington, Indiana? His brothers were born out of state, right? Luke in Ames, IA and Tyler in California...?

Almost a Rudy scenario really...
Imagine Bennie Seltzer telling you: You're 5 foot nothing, a hundred and nothing, and you have barely a speck of athletic ability. You hung in there with the best college basketball players in the land for 4 years and you're going to walk out of here with a degree from Indiana University. In this life you don't have to prove nothin' to nobody but yourself! And after what you've gone through, if you haven't done that by now, it ain't never going to happen!

They discussed this on Around The Horn this afternoon. Summarizing, Plaschke said he doesn't consider UK a college team. At this point everyone knows they're a professional team. I don't know if he was implying what most of us think when we hear "professional" (getting paid), but that is what I inferred. The other writers agreed with him. One even bemoaned the idea that UK was paying $100K to each team competing, including the Dominican and Bahamian national teams, and covering their expenses when there are so many things going under or unfunded at the university.

My favorite line from Dan today was, "Indiana will turn this over, if you let them!" It was towards the end of the game, IU was bringing the ball up against the OSU press. I laughed because it was exactly was I was thinking at the time, and I had seen it happen far too often for a team with 3-4 guards in the line up at all times.

I loved the Boonville sectional---- that place rocked----I remember when the great South Spencer team went through there with Kenny Perry on the way to the semi-state and was unbeaten---25 and 0---until Terre Haute South with Cam Cameron and Thompson knocked them off in a thriller. Both those high school teams had front lines bigger than IU's. That was something to see.
Huntingburg gym is great too.
I've watched many baseball games at Huntingburg's league stadium which is where they filmed "A League of Their Own" with Madonna----it still looks like an old fashioned ballpark
----chair back seats--- it's like you've walked back in time. A great place to relax and watch a game. The Dubois County Bombers semi-pro team plays there too.
Good times.
Wow, a Kenny Perry reference!

Man amongst boys BUT his energy on the court is horrible. Way too laid back. Barely any hustle at all.
Geez, kid slinks around the court like CWat when he doesn't have the ball!
I could almost hear the Pink Panther theme song as Juwan sauntered about the court...

This performance is not acceptable---especially from our older players.
I say we pull one out of the Knight playbook---and bench all the upperclassmen except Yogi--and play the frosh and newcomers.
Who cares what the score ends up being at this point---play April and the frosh---send a message to the older guys who did not come to play.
I don't know reb. Priller, April, and the walk ons didn't lose this game, don't put them in and let the stink rub off on them! Make the starters sit/play in their filth, they're the ones that crapped the bed!
Start the bench for the next game, give them a clean slate to start with.

Let's show Caleb who's boss!
Haha, didn't Michigan make that same mistake when they had jb jr and some other recruits behind the bench when IU went in there in beat them?
I hope (and know) that history repeats itself!

What I could gather from Peegs thread titles only is that the dreaded boot is back, and that this is not a new thing this year for Hanner.
At least I hope that's all there is to it.
Hanner's just protecting his draft status...

Countless walk-ons who "love" Indiana
Kenny Johnson
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Je'Ney
Calbert
Video Coordinators
Etc....
All in a very short window! YES! I meant "guys fleeing like crazy"
The assistant Strength and Conditioning was Seth Cooper. I think he left to train Vic for a short time, now works for the Maine Red Claws
