Double D laying down a truth bomb right now on 1070!

Haha, was that because Wayne "The Rat" Radford told on them? -

I too thought this was an excellent point that Doyel/Doyle hit on with Dakich. Dakich had mentioned Kitchel and Wittman as leaders on the team that made it very clear to Dan what kind of behavior wouldn't be tolerated by the team, let alone the coach. Holt and Davis are doing what they see the current team leaders (Yogi/Hanner) doing and try to maintain the standard. There is a lack of leadership amongst the current players. I can only hope this event wakes these young men up, as life doesn't give you too many second chances. -
Devin Davis injured/Emmitt Holt cited for DUI

Any alternatives to Dakich??????

Is that the show where you are given a second chance, then cheat on an exam and cannot gain admission to your state university? Is that the show? We've seen that episode... -
Calbert Cheaney
Alabaster Thunder replied to Walking Boot of Doom's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Haha, that former assistant was the head coach at UE at the time... a guy named Jim Crews. Jim called Knight to brag what a steal he was likely going to get in Calbert, Knight came down to see for himself and started recruiting him after seeing him play. The rest is history, all time big 10 scoring champion history. -
(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

Man, imagine how different things could've been if our recruiting rivals thought this way when IU was going through tough times... -
John Skipper, president of ESPN, is a NC native and UNC-Chapel Hill alum. ESPN now has one of their headquarters in Charlotte. Stuart Scott is also a UNC alum.

Haha, I saw an interview with May somewhere not too long ago where he discussed, shortly after leaving school after his junior year in 2005 (a championship year btw), that he'd changed his major to African American studies because he wouldn't be required to be in the classroom and could finish his degree while in the NBA.

Dunk Contest at Hoosiers Hysteria
Alabaster Thunder replied to hothoosiersmom5's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Per ITH: "The ceremony included former players Matt Nover, John Laskowski, Gary Long, Greg Graham, Todd Leary, Errek Suhr, Jamaal Meeks and Jerry Memering, who each handed a pair of the pants to the nine first-year Hoosiers: Nick Zeisloft, Max Hoetzel, Nate Ritchie, James Blackmon Jr., Robert Johnson, Ryan Burton, Jeremiah April, Tim Priller and Emmitt Holt." http://www.insidethehall.com/2014/10/25/notebook-new-tradition-begins-at-hoosier-hysteria/ -
6'4" Guard Nick Zeisloft joins Hoosiers
Alabaster Thunder replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree, no team will plan their defense around Nick. I think we ought to hope opposing teams think the same way. We should hope teams "sleep on Zoloft", forget about him and leave him open for the corner 3 or that they try to close out and he can hit a cutter like Troy heading to the basket. This kid wasn't necessarily brought in to be a sniper; he's a natural leader and he doesn't turn the ball over, two things that were sorely lacking last year. Crean brought him in and made him Yogi's roommate, likely hoping Nick can help him lead. Nick is a smart kid, a floor general; he anchored the zone at his last school and did the same for IU in Canada. He's the guy that'll take the hard charge for the team. He's the guy diving over cheerleaders or into opposing teams benches to save a possession. He's the guy hitting crunch time free throws. He won't be all conference, but he is all Hoosier. -
I can't speak for the first week on campus, however I parked next to him for a year and he had the same green 4 dr 1995-1998 Ford Explorer with Texas plates that said "The Colony" on the license plate bracket, every single day... I'd call that rumor complete BS, but like I said, I won't speak for that first week on campus. Perhaps you had him confused with Ken Nunn...

Not to pick any nits, but I had heard Remy chose to leave. Remy and his mom approached Crean several days after Crean had already filed the releasing paper work, pleading for Remy's spot back on the team but was SOL. That spot ended up going to Gordon. Remy did not seem bitter about it, as he came back over the following summer to shoot hoops with the team. Again, just the way I had heard it, agree with the premise of your post though. Would Remy have helped last year? Don't know about off court, but on court I feel like he would've been better than J Marlin... No offense to the maniac Marlin-ites on here. -

So the kid from NE Oklahoma chose the Dallas, Ebola capital of the USA over Bloomington, basketball mecca? There are a lot of diseases one could pick up in Btown (I hear), however none of them are Biosafety Level 4 pathogens! Could another big PG be on the radar? Hmm... -
(2015) SF Ogugua Anunoby to IU

Anybody else have the feeling, knowing Tom Crean, that IU takes both OG and Shake (and Boo Boo Bryant if he wants in as well)? Coach Crean would make room if he had the option... -

Hoosier Hysteria---Recruit Guest List

I am familiar with some characters from that area, haha! I haven't been to the Reo drive in since high school though. I always make fun of how slow they drive down there, and that it really didn't come as any surprise when the one guy that drove fast from there (Jeremy Mayfield) was found to be on methamphetamine! Owensboro also has that goofy mayor that wanted to alter the long standing plans of I-69 so that it would come through his town... I personally think he just wanted another bridge over the Ohio River so Kentuckians could swim in the shade when crossing into the sweet Freedomland of Indiana! -

that is rather unfortunate... :taunt: Just kidding man, I'm actually fond of western Kentucky, very pretty countryside with nice people. It has the added benefit of being Indiana adjacent :D
