Stanford Robinson's Role
Alabaster Thunder replied to Beachfront Property's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
According to Yogi on tonight's radio show with Fischer (12-29), one of Stan's roles is that of team clown/chatterbox... -
Congrats, Coach!

Seems like he's more likely to drop a deuce on the hood and wipe with your floormats... -
Making room for 2015 class?

Wait, doesn't Crean have the BS contract!? -
Man, I realize that they are playing ASU, but he looks like a really solid 5. Has back-to-the-basket moves, can pass out of the post, rebounds, protects the rim...

HAHA! Just glad the balcony bathrooms are driving the fans away!

All the seats were likely paid for, any speculation on your part pertaining to reasons why they were empty? Exams, blowout, lack of enthusiasm for the team, a return of the Spanish flu? Edit: "playground basketball" product on the floor - FK

Not at all, just disappointed in his new uniform choice. Maybe he likes playing in smaller, half empty (but alcohol serving) arenas?

Luke off to a very good start... ugh.

The nation's perspective on IUBB
Alabaster Thunder replied to Never Daunted's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
"Two years ago, no one would have dreamed that Crean would be coaching with the jackals braying for his job." So anyone who thinks Crean should be gone is a braying jackal? (I wasn't aware jackals brayed...) Overall, cannot disagree with the article, as it simply stated the facts. Story seems to be suggesting a different and/or better coach (he hints Brad Stevens) keeping more of the homegrown talent in state may be a solution to IU basketball's problems. Of course, Story is writing this as an open plea to super tolerant UK fans, many of whom still say "Tubby Smith wasn't a bad coach, he was just the wrong color."* *I hear this every couple of weeks from different UK fans. -

Wow, kid plays like a lil' LeBron! I don't know what schools are recruiting him hard (probably all), but I always fear someone with his talent will be bought and paid for in some way by a neighbor to the south... -

JaQuan Lyle off the board
Alabaster Thunder replied to CottageGrove's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm not arguing, wish coach would've turned Yogi loose. By "advised" I mean Yogi got his butt chewed out by Crean if he took shots from behind the arc. -
JaQuan Lyle off the board
Alabaster Thunder replied to CottageGrove's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yogi was advised not to shoot 3's by Crean, his role was a facilitator. A major thorn in the side of that team was that Crean was still having 2.5-3 hour practices the days before games at the end of the season (for reference, Knight would do ~45 minute walk throughs the day before tourney games because he wanted his team to be rested). Zeller said the entire team was exhausted for the Temple and Syracuse games. -

Stan mixed it up with Colin as well, just after Stan's "focus issues" led to those back to back inbounding turnovers to Harrell. Stan later over threw Colin or Nick on an inbounds pass that went for a Louisville dunk the other way... Stan's turnovers or lackadasical play had to directly account for ~12-14 pts for Louisville. -
