JaQuan Lyle off the board
chitown hoosier replied to CottageGrove's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He's not going to be someone who we play against regularly. -
So is Michigan better than we think or is Nebraska just worse than we think. Hmmm

Although stars are somewhat meaningful I only take it with a grain of salt. A lot of kids just don't get the same exposure to these scouts for whatever reason. I'm sure in the history of recruiting there have been a lot more successful 4 star kids than 5 star kids in college ball.

Line up when Hanner gets healthy
chitown hoosier replied to maharkn's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's actually a really smart move by Crean to have Hartman start at the 5. Yeah we give up size on defense but we also draw away the opponents biggest defender from the paint with his range. What I loved was seeing Hartman take their bugs off the dribble once they stepped out to guard him. Stick with what we have and if we are getting beat down low then we can bring in Hanner to help. I'm really appreciating this team this year. They are so much fun to watch. I'd rather watch this offense than throwing it down low and trying to see our bigs score 1 on 3. -
It's saying something when the past several games it's hard to pick a consensus MVP. This years team has so many contributors. It isn't just the yogi show or vonleh show of last year.

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU
chitown hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
She just probably wants him close to home like most mothers do. in the end it will be his decision. If he is a smart kid he will see he benefits of playing for IU. -
Could happen. I think I heard somewhere that they struggle in Knoxville. The problem with Kentucky is that they actually play d and it can get stifling at times. What I don't understand is why don't opposing teams post on Ulis every time he's in the game. The kid is quick and a good player but he is teeny. I would just clear out the post and have the gaurds go at him. Also, these teams need to figure out that if you're going to drive the lane they need to go up and try to dunk it every time. It was the same for us when we played Louisville. We got blocked on almost every layup attempt. You just cannot do that against size, especially pukes length and athleticism

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU
chitown hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This is what will happen. Bryant will commit to UK and be on the second line and make little impact. Maker will reclassify and will see that he can become godlike at IU and commit. We will win it all next year. At least this is my dream... -
If Ohio State is still getting more AP votes than us after this weekend then I say banish the AP!

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU
chitown hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The thing is Cal used to get a lot of top players but never had lineups like this year. Very good players are just not getting the minutes they should be. I would think a lot of these top kids would have a much better chance at being one and dones if they just went to another school to be showcased. -
(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU
chitown hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well if anything Syracuse is in the same boat as us if not worse. Cannot see Mccoulah (sp?) leaving now because of his injury so they would be oversigned if Bryant commits. News of possible sanctions should be coming out soon. This really leaves UK and us and I'm getting the feeling from recent updates that he's seriously leaning UK. I just don't get though why so many top recruits all want to play there. I understand the nba drafts on potential but he will never be an impact star there like he would here. Just look at Marcus lee. He could've been something great here but he barely contributes. just boggles my mind. -
Goodnight duke. You made my night.

Clear example of how Crean fails in recruiting.
chitown hoosier replied to FKfootball's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yes Crean failed in recruiting because of a 3 star and every 3 star that was undervalued.... -
Troy Williams - 2 of the top 10 plays
chitown hoosier replied to bleedhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If you look at pure stats, Troy is ahead of what Victor was doing in their sophomore years. Now will Troy keep it up and have that huge junior jump? We can only hope. -

Man that crossover...Tim Hardaway esque -
Honestly, I think "traditional" is what hurts IU recruiting more than anything. I'm all for traditional and I appreciate how IU has held steadfast in their jerseys with no names but times are changing. A simple jump from adidas to Nike can benefit our recruiting. Now I'm not saying we should become UK but a lot of these kids these days don't care about "tradition" anymore. They weren't even born during the glory days so to state simply IU should be recruiting better because of our tradition is moot.
