Is Thomas Bryant a one and done?
chitown hoosier replied to jdailey1981's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
There's just no way. When he committed, he stated that he wanted to play at least 2 years of college ball. I think he's a smart kid and knows that there's just no way he would compete at the NBA level right now. Bench players in the NBA would embarrass him right now. -

I don't like to complain about refs but man they were atrocious this game. -

Yup. 5-0. Hate that this team plays down to the competition but they are still winning, and on the road. Gotta give this team props for pulling out the W's. -
(2016) C Thon Maker
chitown hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Well in his ESPN recruiting video, he lists Indiana first without hesitation and then ASU and so on. Probably doesn't mean much but the fact he stated Indiana first without hesitation doesn't hurt. -
(2016) PF De'Ron Davis to IU
chitown hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
OG/DD/TB...scary BIG and good. I don't care how bad JBJs defense is when we have this combo guarding the post. Coach is putting a scary good team for next year. -
Agree. Crean would've been killed for keeping him on the team. Is it just me or does MSU seem to have a really short team. They remind me a lot like Indianas team last year. No true center that really relies on their shooting ability. In one sequence they gave up like 5 offensive rebounds to Iowa. Although there were fouls that were net called, they just seemed out matched on the boards.

Uh yeah. This is the potential and it's scary good -
UK is where 5 stars go to become average. Where is the player development? Poythress is the same as he was as a freshman. Skal and Briscoe were studs and they've become mediocre.

I didn't think this team could win a game like this. Yes the offense sucked but they won by playing defense. 3-0, can't complain too much -

Yup. Holt hustled and rebounded but he had no jump shot and far less athleticism than OG. I still remember a clear tip dunk he had a chance at and missed. I was in awe that his hops were so bad. -

Yes, as a fan of IU basketball, I would think most would dislike Miles over Crean. I don't understand how he thinks tweeting at half time is a good thing at all. -

I think Miles is quickly becoming my most disliked big ten coach. Winning these 2 road games was a must and they did just that. -

Tell Tim miles to stay off the court. He's worse than Crean -

What is wrong with RJ today. How many TO's does he have? -
I think we need to live and die by the 3 this year. If not TB or TW, no one should be driving it into the lane against them. Our guards got swatted over and over again last year trying to penetrate their interior d. I'd rather see us just jack up 3s. At least that way they can actually get a shot up.

Dakich: Blackmon couldn't guard a chair
chitown hoosier replied to incrediboy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The kids who are from Indiana that should give a damn about Indiana basketball are the most selfish players on the team right now. -

Why does everyone keep thinking Butler only recruits local kids. They have 3 players from Indiana and 1 used to be on IU who thought he was better than the playing time he deserved. FYI, he isn't doing much better at Butler. If "local" is going to include Illinois and Kentucky than I guess a point can be made. But I'm from Chicago and I know for a fact that the type of ball mentioned is not what they play. If I remember correctly, IU beat a better Butler team last year with pretty much the same roster. I'm so tired of the argument that IU needs to focus locally more or get better local talent. If this program is ever going to get back to blue chip recognization, we need to keep pulling in talent from everywhere. -

I agree. Forget his IU stint. He was a mediocre coach at Bowling Green. There is no way he would've succeeded as a coach at IU.
