I really hope someone steps up here. I have really enjoyed being a part of this for the last three years.

I know how good IU is, or perhaps can be. Not so sure about St Mary's. They are terrific at home but they aren't playing at home. Who have they played? Gonzaga? But how good is Gonzaga? They met and lost to Wisconsin. We are not outclassed here. If we play well, we win. IU 64 St Marys 63 Last basket wins.

If we played this game in December, fans would be complaining about our easy schedule. They finished 5th in the Mountain West and had to win their tourney to get in. Crunching numbers and splitting hairs on this one. IU, which is supposed to have a good defense, gives up an average of 66 points/game. Minny gives up 68. So we are pretty close defensively. OTOH IU has an offensive average of 72, despite having a poor offense. Minny is actually worse with an average of 68. Looking at it another way IU stands at 72-66, while Minny is 68-68. Even at home Minny should struggle to get to 68 against the IU defense. IU might struggle to get to our average of 72. Last basket wins. IU 70 - Minny 66

Think I'll count how many times tonight 5 guys in white stand around as we lob the ball to #23 and watch him try to force up a shot over a double or triple team. Bet Maryland doesn't have that play scouted. Praying this isn't a close one because we all know how well we do in those games. On paper MSU beats IU at MSU, but this game isn't played on paper. IU has it's back up to the wall in a must win game. After the fiasco in Evanston I know five guys that better play like their hair is on fire! Hope I don't end up regretting this one. IU 70-66

IU wins and nobody wants to pick against IU. IU loses and people start jumping ship. This is a must win game for the Hoosiers. Two losses at home to make up and the next several games are really tough. The post season is on the line. Hope the guys realize this. Add the fact that NW doesn't have a star that can overwhelm us. I make the chances of IU winning this game about 55/45 or even closer. If this was an honest betting site the money would be close to evenly split. Instead this is a Hoosier site and no real money is on the line - only bragging rights. To this point only one person has picked against the Hoosiers. Not a very efficient market. Sitting in 4th place. This isn't a good game to make a move and go out on a limb. Just not that confident and beside I enjoy watching the game more when I'm not rooting against myself. Homer? Maybe. But also trying to be smart. Less chance of getting hurt badly if I follow the crowd this game.

Play this game in Bloomington and IU wins. Play this game at a neutral site and IU probably win. Play this game at Maryland and I'm tossing a coin. I see this one as razor close. IU doesn't like to win on the road and we are short handed at point guard. If this wasn't a homer board the majority would pick Maryland. Hope my Hoosiers don't make me regret this pick. PSU and Michigan know how to beat IU. Keep the ball out of the lane, force IU to shoot 3's, and shoot 60%+ from 3-point range. Of course, that formula can beat anyone. Betting PSU doesn't catch lightning in a bottle twice in a season. IU - 71 PSU - 61

Who starts isn't really very important. What is important is how soon coach goes to the bench and who finishes.
