The Purdue Boilermakers will be without a key member of the starting lineup for the next several games. The program announced Friday afternoon that shooting guard Sasha Stefanovic has tested positive for COVID-19. Due to Big Ten Conference protocols, Stefanovic will be required to miss the next 17 days due to positive test. He will also have to pass further testing in order to return to action. According to the official announcement, he will miss at least the next three games as a result of the positive test.

Indiana women's soccer Head Coach Erwin van Bennekom announced the 2020-21 schedule on Friday afternoon. The 11-match slate features five home games and six road games against Big Ten Conference opponents. The schedule also includes a regional playoff weekend from April 8-11, consisting of one or two non-conference matchups against Big Ten opponents. The exact format, dates, times, opponents and locations are to be announced at a later date. The four-team, Big Ten Conference Tournament will be played on the weekend of April 15-18, consisting of the semifinals and a championship game to be played at the highest remaining seed. "First and foremost, we are very thankful to all IU staff members for their dedication in creating an opportunity for a Big Ten season this Spring," van Bennekom said. Not good news for the Olympics from the London Times - The Japanese government has privately concluded that the Tokyo Olympics will have to be cancelled because of the coronavirus, and the focus is now on securing the Games for the city in the next available year, 2032. According to a senior member of the ruling coalition, there is agreement that the Games, already postponed a year, are doomed. The aim now is to find a face-saving way of announcing the cancellation that leaves open the possibility of Tokyo playing host at a later date. “No one wants to be the first to say so but the consensus is that it’s too difficult,” the source said. “Personally, I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
