(2021) C Logan Duncomb to IU, to Winthrop
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
In a district semifinal game in the Ohio state tournament, Moeller pounded Middletonw 51-22. First game Moeller has played in nearly 2 weeks as their first 2 tournament opponents had to forfeit due to COVID. I haven't seen any final game stats for Duncomb only what he had at halftime -- 7 pts; 3 reb; 1 asst.; 3-3 FG. -
He later signed an extension at New Mexico and then almost immediately bolted for UCLA.

I'm sorry but I just can't help myself.

Happens more than you think but just doesn't necessarily make big headlines. Boston College fired their coach mid-season and then have gone on a 4-game winning streak. New Mexico announced today a mutual parting buyout with their coach who is in year 4 of a 6-year contract. Dollars certainly not of the the magnitude of Archie's buyout but in terms of impact on athletic dept. budgets probably just as great.

And with each game that we're losing in a non-competitive fashion may keep loosening donor purse strings.

Holmes is back going 7-9 on FG; 7 reb; 4 blk. A really nice double double from Cardaño-Hillary 16 pts. and 11 reb. -
We weren't going to beat either MSU or PUke with a healthy Armaan. With him out of the lineup..................................

This is embarrassing. Tom Crean had a .438 win percentage in Big Ten play. That includes rebuilding seasons in which he went 1-17, 4-14, and 3-15. Archie’s win percentage is .440.

On the post-game, Archie said Armaan likely done for the year. "Armaan has a right foot injury, not his original injury. It seems to be a bone bruise more than anything. Nothing structurally wrong. It's a pain tolerance thing." -

What Does IU Need to Do to Get in the NCAAs?
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I just want this pathetic season to end. I have no interest in any post-season tournament to watch us get beaten by a podunk school from a podunk conference. -
Saw this elsewhere captioned: Any volunteers to help pack and carry?

The New Mexico job opened today as the university and head coach Paul Weir negotiated a buyout of Weir's contract. He's in year 4 of a 6-year contract. No $$ announced but it can be done. From Archie's perspective, his career won-loss record isn't going to improve by staying another year at IU.

Without Armaan, Gen. George Pickett had a better chance of taking Cemetery Hill from the Union forces in the Battle of Gettysburg than we have against Michigan today. -

John Marshall over Century 46-36 in a horrid shooting night for Meister. She finished with 13 pts; 10 reb; 3 asst; 2 stl; 1 blk; 0 TO. On her 2-point attempts she was only 6-19 with the vast majority all being attempted within 6' of the bucket. She was 0-1 on 3s; and 1-2 on FT. -
