L A Sparks Public Relations Dept. - The Los Angeles Sparks have signed guard Grace Berger to a rest-of-season hardship contract. In 47 games over two WNBA seasons, the 26-year-old is averaging 3.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, converting 44.1% from the field and 46.2% from beyond the arc. Berger was drafted seventh overall by the Indiana Fever out of the University of Indiana. Ironically, the Sparks play the Storm (Mack Holmes) tonight.

Bjorn, Savoury, Lewis each hold IU offers although Lewis likely ends up at Iowa or Iowa State. Olivia Jones is an IU target.

The USA U19 camp started with 31 players and made it's first cut reducing the number to 18. Caleb Holt and Deron Rippey, Jr. made the initial cut. Reports are Jordan Smith likely would also have made the initial cut but injured an ankle and had to sit out. Tay Kinney, Cole Cloer and Caleb Gaskins were 3 other IU offers who were among the initial 31 invited but didn't survive the first cut.

Claire is currently listed as a 5'10" PG but at her age, she could still add an inch or two. She attends Zionsville HS. With her young age, there's not a lot of info out there about her. August '24 article discussing players attending the BlueStar 30 -- Claire Stoops, 5-9, guard, 2030, Indiana Elite (expected to attend Zionsville High School in 9th grade, Indiana). Stoops is a lefty with a nice pull-up jumper. In basketball-crazy Indiana, she already has rep as one of the top 2030’s (that’s rising seventh graders!) in the state. From the Iowa bball website announcing her Iowa offer -- Stoops is just getting set to enter eighth grade, but the youngster from Indiana already has serious game. A member of Indiana Basketball Club 15U 3SSB, Stoops recently dropped 25 points in a 15U matchup. Raby described him as a development player vs. a project player with an existing skill set better than Harun Zrno. He is expected to play next season but may not log major minutes. Raby used Priller as an example of a project player so that should be all you need to know regarding Raby's use of development vs project.
