Mother Bryant may still weigh in on this whole fiasco in a way that we don't like. Certainly hope not, but she can't be very pleased about what's happening in Bloomington.

Devin Davis cited for marijuana possession

It was the right decision; maybe a painful decision, but the right decision. We were previously told of last year's Fred Glass 'come to Jesus' meeting and alleged zero tolerance policy going forward. If the outcome wasn't dismissal then it really demonstrated that the head coach and AD have no backbone and only paid lip service to the ongoing issues. -

Getting hard to keep track of all the comments but I know there have been several concerning Thomas Bryant and what his mother must be thinking. And what about all the other mothers, fathers, guardians, high school coaches, etc., of kids we're trying to recruit? What's the message they're hearing and reading? May not be readily apparent in every instance and may be extremely subtle, but you can't tell me that our off-court issues of the past couple of years aren't going to have a negative impact on recruiting. At the very least, other coaches will certainly be using it against us. And the way things have gone, maybe we should be more worried about recruits who do want to come to IU. Are they coming for the right reasons or the wrong reasons? -

If a zero tolerance policy was clearly put into place then it doesn't matter if it's a misdemeanor. Ask The General about zero tolerance policies and Myles Brand and Knight's dismissal wasn't near the level of a violation of law - misdemeanor or not. -

And for those who doubt the above, read the following from December 1978: https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=861&dat=19781213&id=F9RSAAAAIBAJ&sjid=qn8DAAAAIBAJ&pg=5451,3523311&hl=en -

There were many things I disliked about The General especially in the latter years of his IU tenure but one thing I liked is how he held his players accountable and how he expected them to represent the university and the basketball program. I'm tired of this crap! I badly wanted to see Devin play ball again but after this, go play somewhere else. Get out of Bloomington and the sooner the better. And while you're packing your bags help Hanner pack his because I'm also tired of the mollycoddling he's gotten from Crean. Suspensions and hand slaps are pointless. Kick their asses out and do it quickly. Let's see some real backbone from the head coach and the AD. -
Then we'll just have to judge you for what you don't post.

(2016) SG Tyus Battle to Syracuse

And it will be even more impressive if they can hold on to him until 2016 and he actually dons a Michigan uniform. I'm afraid we're going to start seeing more and more Lyles and Swanigans making announcements and then deciding that's not where they really want to go after all. Especially if new 'handlers' and 'mentors' suddenly enter into their basketball lives. Hope I'm wrong. -
MSB singlehandedly dug the Grand Canyon -- on his lunch hour.

MSB was the ghost writer for Lennon & McCartney.

Ev’ry morning at the gym you could see him arrive He stood 6 foot 9 and weighed 225. Kinda lean and skinny like corn on a cob But everybody knew you don’t give no lip to Middle School Bob. Nobody knew where MSB called home Only that it was somewhere north of San Antoine. He didn’t say much, kinda quiet and shy And if he spoke at all, he just said “Hi” Some said he came from faraway lands Drawn by the sound of Crean’s clappin’ hands. Once in B’town and after just one glance He wanted to wear the candystripe pants. Then came the day with the pUKe game on the line Crean shouted his name and said “You’ll do fine.” Calipari was prayin’ and his heart beat fast ‘Cause he knew his team had breathed its last. Through the heat and the sweat of Assembly Hall’s hell Entered Middle School Bob to the crowd’s huge swell. He grabbed a pUKe rebound, gave out with a groan And just for a moment he stood their alone. And with all of his strength he gave a mighty heave A full court shot to the crowd’s disbelief. Then the Hoosier Nation roared with glee Middle School Bob had swished a 3. Now pUKe never got over its awful loss And Middle School Bob is the new Big Boss. He proved Calipari was nothing but a slob And thus became the legend of Middle School Bob. [somewhere Jimmy Dean is spinning in his grave. ]

To the rest of the world it's Remember the Alamo but in Texas, it's Remember MSB!

In one of the lesser known NASA and federal government cover-ups, Neil Armstrong's first words upon stepping on the moon were not "That's one small step...." What was bleeped was "Holy crap, MSB's already been here!"

MSB calculated pi to it's full completion. BTW, you people are killing me. This is better stuff than any stand-up comedian ever came up with.

Barnes and Martin are way too close of friends. Surprised me when MSU was his first announced choice.

Come listen to my story ‘bout Middle School Bob A down home kid and certainly not a snob. And then one day shootin’ hoops in Texas land Coach Crean came callin’ and clappin’ his hands. Real loud claps; multiple claps; IU claps. Bob’s first scholly came from old San Antoine Incarnate World first to throw Bob a bone. Crean said Indiana is the place you oughta go Wearin’ IU candystripes and I won’t take a no. Little 500; Dunn Meadow; Beautiful Coeds Bob said yes and became a wunderkind An IU legend in our hearts and our minds. Immediate fan favorite that’s Middle School Bob Not to mention that he's the campus heart throb.

Usain Bolt set the world record in the 100 meters because he was being chased by MSB.

Shall we start a pool on how long it takes for him to run the Liberty into the ground? Incredible on-court basketball talent; incredibly bad decision maker as a manager.

Very happy to know he'll work with John Lucas, but aren't there other parts of his game Troy should work on? With Yogi, RoJo, JBJ, Nick, I don't see a need for Troy to be roaming very far from the basket and jacking up 3's.. We need him working near the rim. -
(2015) PG Harrison Niego to IU
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
First mention I saw was a Rabojohns tweet that referred to him as a new Indiana commit and I started hyperventilating wondering who was leaving. Then others clarified that he would be a preferred walk-on and slowly my bp and heart rate came down. I'm too damn old for this!! I'm really not clear on the distinction between walk-on and preferred walk-on so anyone that can explain the difference please do so. And don't we already have a preferred walk-on, either Ritchie or Burton? If that's the case, how many PWOs can you have on the roster? And last but not least, a big Hoosier welcome to Harrison. -
Cuonzo is really puttin' it to TN with the recruiting job he's done for next season. He's building quite a force on the west coast. Gonna make it a wee bit tougher on AZ and Stevie at UCLA.
