  1. Not comfortable with our second half offense. We moved the ball much more crisply in the first half.  This half guys are catching and then dribbling aimlessly before passing and we've had to take some quick shots to beat the shot clock.
  2. Seems like years since we've seen this team play this well.  Need to duplicate the effort and the results in the second half.
  3. Holt just has a certain instinct about the game that can't be taught.  So often it seems that Hanner has to take that split second to "think" about what he's going to do.  The reaction time and reflex actions of Holt just seem to be superior.
  4. Who are these guys?
  5. Please stay under control and just keep slowly building up the lead.  Don't give NU an opportunity to make a game out of it.
  6. In last night's Sacramento Kings vs. Charlotte Hornets game, a lady in the stands took a basketball square on her nose.  Would CTC consider that a deflection?
  7. I can see it now.  Priller subs in for Yogi and takes over playmaking duties.  Probably makes as much sense as many of his other substitutions we've seen this season.

    Nah, it's really CTC's wife.

Will 1 more win do it?

With the product we've seen over the last 1/3 of the season I am mystified by this obsession to be in the NCAA tournament.  This team is not capable of making any noise in the tournament other than pfffft.   If it gets in, MAYBE it wins one game because the sun and the moon are properly aligned but that's it.  1 game at best.    And if by some miracle we do get in, I hope we are a very low seed to match my, and I suspect many others, expectations.

    IU vs. MSU Postgame

Most teams have injuries that keep starters out of multiple games.  That's where coaching adjustments (or lack thereof) come into play.

    IU vs. MSU Postgame

Yes, yes and yes.  Words (that won't be censored) simply can't adequately describe how most of really feel.

I think the end of the season swoon indicates CTC lost this team in the locker room.

OT: NCAA penalizes Syracuse and Boeheim

Didn't mean to imply I agreed with it but I think it's just the reality that if Bryant commits, CTC is guaranteed another year.  And if he's as good as he's been billed, it could go a long ways towards solving our problem in the post.

OT: NCAA penalizes Syracuse and Boeheim

Absolutely buys him another year for sure because if Bryant commits and then CTC loses his job I've no doubt Bryant immediately de-commits.

OT: NCAA penalizes Syracuse and Boeheim

Actually, coming from the usually featherweight NCAA, I thought it was pretty harsh.  Now, they need to rip UNC a new a**hole as well.

    Potential coaching change suggestions

The beauty of this forum is that we can agree to disagree.  I just don't think that Smart's background is what IU needs and I feel the same way about Woodson, Wittman, Chaney...  all of whom were great players.  I just think the experience of college level coaching and recruiting is more important for the long term success of the program.   There aren't a lot of pro coaches who seem to drift back to the college level and have success and a lot of college level coaches who try the NBA seem to drift back to the college level.    But I'm old and cranky and haven't had my daily nap yet.

Keith has zero head college coaching or recruiting experience.

    In Tom Crean's Defense...

The defense rests and asks the judge for a directed verdict.  GUILTY as charged and sentenced to go coach somewhere else.

    Potential coaching change suggestions

This whole thread is for naught based on an exclusive interview Fred Glass gave Mike Miller of the Herald-Times earlier today.   The most important paragraph:  “Tom is definitely not coaching for his job on Saturday,” Glass said. “I’ve always thought that was silly whether it was pro football, where this guy’s gotta win this wild card playoff game or that guy’s gotta win two games in the conference tournament or something to keep his job. I just think that’s silly, whether it’s the NFL, or college football or college basketball. I believe you’ve got to look at the body of work. For Tom and his years here, I think the body of work is pretty darn good and certainly merits his continued leadership of the program.”   So everyone just buckle up for another rough ride next year.

    Potential coaching change suggestions

No college coaching / recruiting experience and the NBA is a whole different type of ballgame.  And I would feel the same way about Keith Smart's name being mentioned or Calbert C., even though he has been working as a college assistant coach for Jim Crews at St. Louis.
