Devonte was named the 2016 All-Long Island Boys Basketball Player of the Year. He's listed at 6'2" and 165 lbs. so he'll need to add some weight and muscle. The brief bio also has the following: "At the start of his lengthy high school career, he was known as Danny Green’s little brother. But when it was over, he was simply known as Devonte. Green averaged 20.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.7 steals per game for Long Island’s best team. He finishes his career with 2,683 points, fourth in New York State history." Pretty hard to find words of thanks and appreciation that haven't already been expressed by others. Unbelievable career in candystripes and capping it off with putting his name in the IU record books multiple times. I hope I can live long enough to witness the next point guard whose 4-year career comes close to that of Yogi. Best Wishes to the entire Ferrell family.

To a degree, any woman who marries a man with head coaching aspirations does so with her eyes open that criticism of her husband is inevitable and often very crude and brutal. Unfortunately, it shouldn't end up being directed at their children but that's simply not the way today's society acts. I've not been a CTC supporter, but comments and actions that have been directed at his kids are disgusting.

One drawback I see is that parity will disappear and basketball/football in particular will become much like women's basketball with a few really elite teams and then everyone else. Coaches won't be recruiting players as much as they'll be recruiting checkbooks. Sadly, there's already too much of this going on in college sports.

But masseuse parlor makes for a much more entertaining story and mental images of what went on! :-D

Depending upon how well JBJ and Newkirk recover from their surgeries, Cujo and Green may get more playing time than most of us expect. And yes, I see Niego becoming more of an afterthought unless there's an Oladipo like transformation in his game.

At least when we got beat by Boohime's Bums, it wasn't because of a collapse like Virginia's but even that doesn't make me feel any better about our loss.

One time IU target Stephen Zimmerman (UNLV) to enter draft per Yahoo Sports. Seven-foot UNLV freshman Stephen Zimmerman plans to enter the 2016 NBA draft, league sources told The Vertical. Zimmerman, 19, plans to sign with an agent and eliminate the opportunity to withdraw and return to college basketball before the NCAA's May 25 deadline, sources said. A formal announcement is expected early this week. Jonathan Givony, the Vertical’s draft insider, has Zimmerman at No. 26 in his most recent mock draft. NBA executives told The Vertical that Zimmerman, mobile, skilled and a good shot-blocker, has the potential to move into the top half of the draft with some strong performances in pre-draft workouts. Zimmerman averaged 10.5 points and 8.7 rebounds for the Runnin’ Rebels, who failed to reach the postseason.

Early on I commented that I was being taken to the first post at the top of the last page of a thread vs. to the last unread post. That is no longer happening. The only think I still notice that's different is I don't have any post numbers. Not a complaint; merely an observation. Other than that, all is good as far as I'm concerned.

For anyone looking for an entertaining way to spend a couple of hours watching Indiana high school basketball, the 1990 state final game between Bedford North Lawrence and Concord is available on youtube. If you ever want to watch a high school kid literally put a team on his back this is a game to watch

Yes, Troy can be a game changer but we never know if he's going to change it for the better or for the worse. I don't know that I've ever watched a player who plays with more inconsistency than Troy. And after 3 years, I'm skeptical we'll see him play any differently next year. That's not at all meant to say I want him to leave, but if he stays, just be prepared for another roller coaster Troy ride next season.

2 thumbs up! After the early season start, playing this late into the NCAA tournament was the farthest thing from my mind.

New Albany defeats McCutcheon 62 - 59 led by Langford with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. He did not shoot particularly well from outside especially in the first half. Also missed 2 FT's at the end of the game which could have been costly. He was an 80% FT shooter on the year.

Phinisee finishes with 13 points, 5-14 FGs, 6 rebs, 6 assists.
