Not a lot of names on the list that are overwhelmingly recognizable but when De'Ron's career at IU is finished, hopefully his name will be just as recognizable as Chauncey's. -

I much prefer bowing out as we did vs. becoming fodder for bar bets or a future Jeopardy show -- The category is: NCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT. The answer is: This team got their ass kicked by a record 44 points in the 2016 Final Four. The question is: Who is IU? No thank you. Much prefer it's Who is OU? Thank you Alex. -

I'll take ours vs. being utterly embarrassed in every conceivable way. What do you tell a recruit who just witnessed a 45 point loss in a Final Four game? -

We may have had our ass kicked by Duke this season, but at least we walked out of the gym with our manhood intact. I think OK got neutered tonight. -

Largest margin of victory in a Final Four or NC game is 34: MSU 101, Penn 67 in 1979. We could be watching history. LOL -

Wouldn't expect it to drag that long. Anyone looking for a new home can't wait too long or openings at their preferred destination(s) will get filled with other commits. I believe most coaches prefer to have their roster solidified by the end of the current semester to better plan summer workouts. By this time, CTC and staff have surely had their individual close out meetings with the underclassmen and if they're open and honest, which I'm certain they are, every member of the team knows where they stand going into next season in terms of what they need to work on in the off-season and what they can expect in terms of playing time. -

The Tennesseean reporting that King Rice, Monmouth head coach and former Vandy assistant under Stallings, and Bryce Drew are the leading candidates for the Vanderbilt head job. Jeff Capel's name also mentioned in the article. http://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/college/vanderbilt/2016/04/01/vanderbilt--monmouth-king-rice-valpairso-bryce-drew/82540784/ -

IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Troy is an enigma, a conundrum, a paradox, a quandary, a mystery, etc. ad nauseum. He is who he is and a senior Troy won't be any different than a freshman, sophomore or junior Troy. He's just like the stock market with his highs and his lows. There just doesn't seem to be a Mr. Average with Troy. If he stays, just expect more of the same next season. -
UNC vs NCAA Allegations??
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Naismith's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I don't know that I'd go quite as far as to say the NCAA is "terribly corrupt" but I certainly agree that the overwhelming odds are that the penalty won't fit the crime for the TurdHeels. The academic fraud they committed for years is truly hard to fathom and if ever a school deserved a near death penalty it's them. -
Baseball: IU @ Rutgers - 3 Game Series
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
This season's stats available at: http://sidearm.sites.s3.amazonaws.com/iuhoosiers.com/documents/2016/2/19/BaseballSeason.pdf?id=20570 On the offensive side, in virtually every category, we're better than our opponent although I'm not sure how much our 27 run game may have skewed the numbers. Likewise our pitching stats are favorable but we're struggling to put the 2 components together in the same games for more W's. -

I'm not interested in going after Albrecht for multiple reasons, but it is interesting that Beilein has caved into the bad PR he's been getting and it serves him right.

Victor Oladipo - Memphis Grizzlies
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to ccgeneral's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
And this final paragraph from the AP game summary: "Oladipo had 18 points and two steals, leaving him 16 points and three steals short of becoming the third NBA player since 1985-1986 to start his career with three straight seasons of 1,100 points, 110 steals and 70 3's." With 7 games left, shouldn't be a problem. When he was recruited it was like 'who is this guy' and now we know. -

And Iowa gets bit again: IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa says freshman guard Andrew Fleming has been released from his scholarship so he can transfer to another school. Fleming averaged 2.2 points and one assist in 11 games last season. Fleming says he is seeking a "better situation" for his college career. The 6-foot-5 native of Nashville, Tenn., by way of Oak Hill Academy, came to Iowa as part of a five-player freshman class, but he had trouble getting on the floor. Now 40 percent of that group is transferring, with the Wednesday news that Brandon Hutton is leaving, too.
