Stampede backcourt duo Aljami Durham & Collin Sexton set to take EYBL by storm 04/14/2016, 5:00pm EDT By Ashley WIlliams, D1 Circuit The 2016 Southern Stampede’s backcourt should be one to watch for in the EYBL circuit. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, the Southern Stampede is a NIKE EYBL affiliate program founded, operated and coached by Aljami Durham Sr. The group was started in 2003 and has become a notable team in the circuit. Leading the squad are guards Aljami Durham Jr. and Collin Sexton, two juniors ranked in ESPN’s Top 100. Durham, who attends Berkmar High School in Lillburn, Georgia, has committed to Indiana. “I felt like coach (Tom) Crean put the most effort into recruiting me,” Durham said regarding his decision. Durham said he can play comfortably now that he is committed to Indiana. Although his future is secure, he plans to work hard and continue to stand out. A talented ball-handler, the 6-foot-4 Durham uses his ambidexterity to throw off defenses while attacking the basket. “I can do a little bit of everything,” Durham said. He also hopes to get stronger, a goal he’d like to achieve before joining the Hoosiers. As far as the EYBL season goes, Durham is excited to play with Sexton, a good friend who shares the same goal. “Coming into the season, I feel like we are slept on, so we are coming in with a chip on our shoulder for our last AAU season,” Durham said about playing with Sexton, who attends Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia. Sexton is uncommitted but has offers from as many as 15 programs, including Alabama, Florida, Iowa State, Texas and California. A tough player to defend, the 6-foot-2 Sexton thrives in high-energy moments. With a high basketball IQ, he requires little reaction time to make the right choices on the court. He often looks to remain aggressive and push the ball, and flourishes while finishing through contact. Aljami Durham Having learned from their AAU experiences that they must be ready to compete every time they step on the court, both players seem well prepared to compete in the EYBL, one of the country’s toughest high school leagues. Durham’s father is not only the CEO of Southern Stampede but is the head coach of the 17U team. Durham has the added stress of playing for his father as a member of the 17U team. “It’s not weird at all, he is my No. 1 critic. He is hard on me but keeps me accountable,” Durham said. Despite similar skill sets, Durham and Sexton see their talents meshing rather than clashing, and neither will feel the need to outshine the other. “We are going to play off of each other and strive for success,” Sexton said. The pair have developed a strong chemistry by playing together at various camps and in numerous leagues. “We are an energetic, scoring pair and will be able to score from all around the court,” Durham said. Collectively, Durham and Sexton want the team to remain highly ranked and do well in the best tournaments on the circuit. Individually, each hopes to be invited to Nike Elite camps and play in big events, such as the Jordan Brand Classic, Elite 24 and the McDonald’s All-American Game. How are they going to get there? “Showing (that) every game is important and playing hard every minute you are out there,” Sexton said.

    (2016) C Thon Maker

From Draft Express: NBA scouts I've spoken to who have watched him extensively just don't see the incredible upside the internet claims Thon Maker possesses. With Thon Maker's small hands, poor frame, average athleticism and feel for the game, ceiling seems to be that of a nice role player at best. What will help Thon Maker achieve his full potential is the fact that he's a tireless worker, has a big time motor & has very high character.

    Victor Oladipo - Memphis Grizzlies

Sounds like he's planning on taking a more dominant role in the locker room next season. As compared to far too many NBA players, Vic is very articulate and clearly received a good education from the time he started elementary school.

(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU

INTERVIEW: 1-on-1 with Alabama Challenge freshman Trendon Watford 04/13/2016, 8:45pm EDT By Alec Kinsky, D1Circuit The words 'freshman' and 'EYBL' aren't used in the same sentence very often. Its truly is rare to see a player compete two age levels up, and it's even more rare that said player is a difference-maker. Consider Trendon Watford a trailblazer, then, because the Alabama Challenge freshman plans to do just that. 'Difference-maker' may be an understatement for the Mountain Brook (Alabama) star. This young man is going to make noise immediately, and is running alongside some extremely high-level talent. D1 caught up with the fabulous freshman, and Watford proceeded to give us a tremendous interview. Alec Kinsky: Not many freshman get the opportunity to play in the 17U EYBL. How pumped are you? Trendon Watford: I’m excited about it, last year I played 16U in the EYBL and that developed my game a lot. Every game was a battle and you’re always playing against top players. AK: Does playing against top competition bring the best out in your game? Watford: Yeah, I just try to be the best player I can be against other teams, and dominate my opponent. AK: What’s it like playing with Rayshaun? I imagine you two will be quite the duo. Watford: It’s been great already. Rayshaun is always ready to play and always plays above the rim. We are both two versatile players. AK: You mention your versatility, how much time do you dedicate to building each aspect of your game? Watford: Lots of time! I’m in the gym every day working on getting better. Me being versatile makes it hard for other teams to decide whether to put a big or a guard on me. Being able to do multiple things allows me to stretch the floor more and opens up shots for my teammates. AK: What has the Alabama Challenge program done for you so far? Watford: They’ve developed my game a lot, and we got to the best tournaments. AK: When did basketball first become a point of emphasis for you? Watford: Probably about 7th grade. That’s when I really started developing my game a lot. AK: When you look to the future, what will make basketball a success for you in the long run? Watford: I want to be one of the greatest to play. Basketball (will be a success) because it will take me a long way. AK: Any hobbies outside of hoops? Watford: XBox and pretty much just chill. AK: If you have to steal one skill from any other player and have it as your own, what would it be? Watford: Kobe’s mentality, no doubt. AK: How much knowledge do you pull from your older brother? I imagine he’s a tremendous resource for you. Watford: A lot! He’s been through it all and knows what it takes to get to the next level. That’s why he pushes me to get better all the time. AK: What would you say is your biggest motivator? Watford: Just me wanting to be the best player to come out of Alabama, and have the ability to influence kids.

Didn't know where else to take this. I've tried making a post to the Chicago Cubs thread but regardless of trying to create a new post or even quote a post, the text entry field goes completely black. The Cubs thread is the only thread I've experienced this. Surely the Curse of the Billy Goat doesn't reach this far.
