Just got back from the Kasilof River fishing for King Salmon. Limited out with 2 of the amazing fish and 1 Dolly Varden. What a wonderful way to start the Alaska Fishing Season. Next stop.... Klutina River for Red (Sockeye) Salmon. That is still a few weeks off but I'm excited none the less. It's on people!

what kind of sight and suppressor? Looks like an aimpoint and maybe "knight" suppressor. i cant tell from the photo.

OMG! someone started a gun thread. I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl (ie, Aloha). I love G-U-N-S! I have one or two of them in all types and varieties. I'm building me and the wifey a couple of nice little ARs at the moment just for giggles, starting with an Armstrong Lower ( I know i could have got a better lower but i have a vision of OD green for mine and maybe yellow for hers) See what COVID has done to me! I'm no longer black or spray painted camo for my ARs. For hunting: I have my trusty 30.06 for everything up here in AK but looked yesterday at at a 6.5 creedmore because i'm getting antsy for hunting season. I don't think i will buy it because my 30.06 has been nothing but reliable and deadly for the past 20 years. For handguns, i carry a .40 cal and sometimes .357 SP101 depending on my mood. my .40 stays mounted in my Jeep Gladiator. I used to carry a Nighthawk Custom .45 but that just stays in the vault nowadays. I have gone away from packing .45s for one reason or another (that's another discussion all together). Don't believe in 9mms even though i have a couple from my previous life. I can talk others elsewhere. Just not in this thread. lol

OH MY GOD! ABC club. i have paid their rent before. Yes, let's get together when you get up here. And yes... the people from North Seattle (Anchortrash) are not Alaskans. We have been trying to get that "city" to secede from the Great State for some time. Canada won't even take them. But, they do have stores and such down there. I get excited about shopping sometimes, i must admit. Pm you contact info and we can start piecing together the mission. Like i said, I'm heading down to Kenai for Kings in about 3 weeks. After that, it's every salmon run at various water sources throughout the state. Will fill you in on the specifics and offer any advice on where/when/how.

you planning on coming up here this summer? We need to link up! i love the red run on the Klutina. The Kenai (Russian) is too many people for my liking. Have you tried the Klutina? it's more of a hidden gem on the Eastern side but the Reds are pretty thick there. Most Anchoragetrash people head to the Kenai and Russian so the Klutina is real Alaskan. Come on up! seriously, lets link up

Well, i guess i can put this out there. in case some of you noticed,I have been spotty, at best with keeping up with the game predications and responding to fellow btowners. To be honest, i have been in an austere local for the past 7 months doing some good stuff to some bad people and recently got evacuated back to Alaska until this weirdness clears up (just in time to prepare for the salmon run). Didn't mean to ignore the majority of you (except Natty, Aloha, nips and the really old fart) but I'm back on here to join in all the online festivities! In case anyone is wondering: Alaska got hit hard with the virus by a cargo plane from China back in early March. We now have like 130ish (can't remember the numbers) with over 30 here in my small tight-knit community of Fairbanks *doesn't sound like a lot but it is for us since we have just a few stores we all frequent* Personally, I'm prepped up with everything i need to keep from going to town but i know eventually, I'm gonna get this Purdue person as will most Fairbanksians. We have only one main hospital in the area and i know it's at it's capacity with only 30+ folks infected. Hopefully, we can keep the infection rate steady to not completely overwhelm the health system. But you know what... I'm disappointed in this pandemic. Where the hell are the zombies? ah... maybe next time.
