I want to get a understanding on what everyone truly feels will be the fate of our coach next year. This is not a discussion thread like the one that's already 20 pages deep (we don't need another one of those). This thread is simply a place where people can lay down their bets on what happens with Tom Crean at the end of this season. The question is simple: Will Tom Crean be our coach next year? Just answer the poll and respond below so we have everyone's answer archived and we will revisit this topic sometime before next season to see who was right and who was wrong. Just a Yes or No answer will suffice.   I wanted to do this before the MSU game to get an honest feel of what our fanbase thinks. If you're too much of a wuss to commit to an answer before the game then feel free to check in Saturday with your answer. Again, let's keep all the discussion in the other two running threads and leave this to just be a thread to place your bets.   I'll start if off: I believe Tom Crean will be our coach next year.   EDIT : Make sure you vote in the poll AND note your answer in a post below.

I remember when I first came down to IU for my freshman year and went down to HPER for some pick-up games. I got my rear end handed to me the first time I went down there. I wasn't the most polished offensive player, but I decided then and there that if I wasn't going to score much for my team, there was no chance I was going to let the guy I was guarding get even a bucket. I brought defense and rebounding and I took it personally when someone scored on me. I hope we have that type of mentality next year.

At first I thought he was going to deadlift 5 plates and thought "holy ****!". Shrugs were still impressive I guess.

I think a lot of people would agree that the rational and correct thing would be to would be not to fire your coach unless you know you have a home run replacement lined up. That is what was the main reason I thought Glass would not fire Crean. Yes, we could've dumped him for an Archie Miller or Greg Marshall but they're not top echelon coaches (great coaches, but IU deserves one of the best, i.e. Stevens or Donovan).   Like I've stated elsewhere in this forum, Crean has my support for the short-term, but we'll see for the long-term.   Edit: Old Friend beat me to my comments

12-13 team broke my heart. I'll be cheering hard for my Hooisers, but I'm going to be cautiously optimistic.

I'm not suggesting that people are happy about it, just that sometimes our passion for IU basketball makes us a little irrational from time to time. It certainly did seem, at least to me, that there was enough momentum behind the notion that Crean was going to get fired yet almost half of us thought he would be.

I think it's about time to bring this thread back. Looks like the majority of  us were right and I'm not surprised how many people thought Crean wasn't coming back given how high emotions were running near the end of the season.   How'd you guys do in your predictions?   I think one thing we all learned is that BTB needs to take a chill pill once in a while.
