I don't think it's fair to assume that Indiana was 100% out of it before Crean's comments this weekend. You could read that quote as the comments made Indiana jump from #8 to #3 or whatever. She's just saying it had a positive impact on Stephen.

  Oh for sure... nothing to get overly excited about. But certainly helps to squash the "he's eliminated Indiana" nonsense. 

  That's true, but what's the point of including Indiana in his final 8 if he's not considering the Hoosiers at all? I could see a hometown school getting included as a courtesy or something, but why would he include Indiana for the hell of it?   You're right that the teams that get the OVs are the real contenders, but you certainly can't count out Indiana yet. 

Hopefully Big Zimm makes a visit to IUBB on a weekend that Cody is coincidentally in town, as well.

  I know that, but it's nice to bring in an assistant and have them stick around more than a year, for the sake of team continuity and momentum. What's Gant going to do if he follows Fuller to IU and then he bolts after 1 season?

  If Fuller doesn't take a head coaching job, he would be a GREAT replacement for KJ. Plus that would put IU right at the top for Gant. Possibly seal the deal.   The only downside of hiring Fuller would be the possibility/probability of him not being around long. If he is getting considered for head jobs now, he will be every offseason until he takes one. Especially if he makes an immediate impact at IU. 

The Crystal Ball is what it is and I'm guessing a lot of the experts over there try to go with the flow to up their "ranking." But seeing Jerry Meyer put down a prediction for Bradley this afternoon makes me think there is something there.    Can't blame him if he chooses Bradley. He would be the highest ranked recruit they've had in a long time and can be the star of the team. Closer to home, long-standing relationships with coaches. I get it. 

 

  There are a lot more consequences than missing 2 basketball games. Crean has been pretty open about Hanner's punishment being mostly behind-the-scenes. But let's not forget about the actual legal consequences. It's not like he drove drunk and got suspended for 2 games. Crean isn't the police. Hanner still got arrested and has plenty of other stuff to deal with.    Yogi and Stan now have the pleasure of being on Little 5 cleanup crew on Sunday, they have to go to court at 830a on Sunday of Little 5, plus the alcohol class and a nice little $400+ fine. 

Not B1G, but reports are that the Harrison twins are coming back to UK next season. They are going to be absurdly talented if that's the case. Official announcement coming any minute now.    Will their success match their talent? Will it take all the way until the NCAA tournament for them to figure it out again? Either way, get ready for another long offseason of all things Kentucky as they will for sure be the preseason #1.

Don't want to post premium info, but I'll say that one of the goats in this thread is correct. 

  Yeah there's no way Crean and Crawford would have worked out. Sucks to lose a future NBA player from your roster, but IU needed the clean slate. No way around it.

  You're absolutely right... Pastner pretty much has all the same issues that Crean does. Great recruiter/salesmen, average coach. Had success against poor competition (Memphis/Marquette both were CUSA). Both were assistants under HOF coaches (Lute Olson for Pastner, Izzo for Crean). Neither has been able to get past the sweet 16.  Pastner has only been a head coach for 5 seasons and has yet to land his "Indiana" job. I wonder what sort of success he will have at the next level when someone inevitably gives him the shot. Hopefully it's not IU. 

  Would be funny but Cal would never let him go to IU. Honestly, I'm not sure Crean would take him (unless his job depends on it!).
