Celtics lose!!!!! to the cavs!!
-
I've been off forums for a few years now...... Well bc IU hoops has been off for a few years now. I'm sure Michigan regrets their decision now, but when they wanted Harbaugh they basically took their A team and a dump truck full of money and wouldn't leave until they got their man. IU needs to do this now with Stevens. Just go get him for F#$%'s sake.

Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers
716e11th replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm quite certain underage players on his bball team drank - most notably his son. There was a no bars policy that they did follow. -
Thanks - On spring break and haven't been able to read through all the threads. Which thread can I look at to see our recruits' status?

Awesome but how does this work with the oversign?

Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Tony Bennett (University of Virginia)
716e11th replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Bennett has been more consistent in the ACC and getting to the Tourney vs CTC. I just don't think you can win an actual NCAA championship with his offense. You need great guards who can score at will. My guess is he'd consistently get us there then exit early - much like he's done at UVA. -
Would never happen but I'd be curious to see jay bilas as a bball coach. Reminds me of how they pulled Purdue Person vermeil back out of broadcasting and he lead the rams to a super bowl win.
-
Point taken. Maybe his records are more consistent but from NCAA tourney perspective, his resume isn't much better than crean's.

Pretty good run at Arizona so far -
Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Sean Miller (University of Arizona)

I'd take him but I just don't see him leaving Arizona. Maybe less pressure there? Thank crean for making it easier to step into the job bc it was a crap storm from Sampson? -
Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Sean Miller (University of Arizona)

Didn't he turn us down before we hired CTC? Can't imagine him wanting to come here now. -
I don't get Bennett. I like the defensive mind set but I think he swings too far in this direction and I think it'll be hard to win a NCAA title with this mentality. He's never won a title. He had 2 ACC titles in 8 years. Three sweet 16's, one elite 8. Him and Alford are way low on my wish list.

Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Brad Stevens (Boston Celtics)
716e11th replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
What's more time consuming? Coaching in the NBA or college? I heard that Stevens said he likes having more time to spend with his family with his current gig vs his college coaching days. -
Can IU realistically wait for donvan's season to end? If OKC makes say the 2nd round, that's into May right? The roster is over the scholarship limit - that needs to be dealt with. Don't want too many recruits or current players to jump ship bc then ur talking a longer rebuild.
-
Would it be telling that CTC is coming back if he's an analyst for cbs during the tournament like he's done before?
-
Beyond me how a coach allows a team to average ~18 turnovers per game over the course of his tenure. No words.
-
I was specifically referring to IU's half court offense - not transition. I thought we had great ball movement as well as inside post feeds against KU. I remember thinking how good they did in their half court sets.
-
We did great in the half court against KU and I'm not just talking about JBJ's 3's late. But then we were bad in it against IPFW. Guess it'll depend on which team shows up.

He had a few moments especially in the 2nd with I think back to back layups. -
#11 Indiana v. #3 Kansas - Postgame Thread

1) free throws - could've ended it way earlier 2) the floor sucked - everyone esp OG was slipping 3) our defense was above average- despite the score bc KU is really good 4) best I've seen our offense play in the half court under crean. No stall outs. 5) fouls were ridiculous on both sides but way worse with calls on Morgan. And Bryant's 5th was beyond ridiculous 6) we apparently have a deep bench 7) Bryant gives crazy effort 8) OG disappeared in the 2nd half vs jbj came alive 9) if we keep improving our defense and #4 above stays true - we'll be really good come march / April -
Indiana vs #10 Nebraska Game Thread (Oct. 15- 3:30PM - ABC/ESPN)
716e11th replied to ThompsonHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
3 points dogs. Hope we can pull this out. Expect a very boring 1st half where we just run it and hope our defense keeps it close. I think CKW is trying to minimize the QB turnovers. -
Indiana vs OSU Game Thread - 10/8 @ 3:30ET on ESPN
716e11th replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Good summary. I had the same thoughts - long bomb in the 1st half that our receiver had to wait on. If he catches that in stride we score. Ended up getting nothing on that. - Laglow fumble - they score 7 - kickoff at the end of the first - I was begging for a squib kick or into the end zone. - interception down to their 12ish - no points Not saying we would've won, but we had our chances. Seems like CKW's game plan is to run the ball and rely on the defense for the first half. Then open things up in the second. Anyways, nice to talk about IU football for a change. Hope we can win 2 (or 3) of 4 over Nebraska, NW, PSU and Maryland (who looks pretty good). Rutgers and Purdue should be wins. -
Indiana defeats MSU! Postgame Thread

I though CKW's calls were too conservative especially as mentioned above about the 4th and 1 in the first and continuing to run the ball. But in hindsight, he must've had faith in the defense (something I never thought I'd hear about IU football). The defense kept it close and the run game eventually opened up. We need the QB to get better and more consistent.
