My list 1a. Stevens 1b. Donovan 2. Marshall/Archie 4. Bennett/Sean Want Donovan with all my heart. My mind expects Archie or Gregg, and I will view our future with optimism with the hire of either. Only thing I've ever heard is from my grandpa. He told me this a long while ago so I may have the details wrong. He said he met former UL Cardinal Stephan Van Treese. Stephan told him he had thought about going to IU but decided not to because CWat told him Crean broke promises to players. I remember these being the players my grandpa mentioned, but, since they both graduated from HS in 09, it seems like it may have had to be another player from either IU or UL. Just realized UMass is A-10. I guess I missed NCSU's comments about going young. Just thought it'd be a good place for Crean. I agree with everyone else. Crean would be great at a mid-major or SEC school where a tourney appearance and S16 run every 3-6 years is success. I do not think Crean would succeed at a 1-bid conference, low major school, because I don't think he'll ever put together a team/program consistent enough to win conference tournaments. Could feasibly have been in the Carolinas w/the BTT in DC. Trip down yesterday, recruit last night and today and I'm guessing he could've had a flight out of Charlotte or one of the other NC cities tonight. Through the grapevine: My dad was in Johnson City, TN for work. Went to eat, and at the restaurant, a guy heard him talking and asked where in Indiana my dad was from and if he was an IU fan (dad is). Guy said he's an IU alumn (edit: he's a doctor, so wealthy which would support the notion that he'd know wealthy alumns), and while not a very important alumn knows a lot of people higher in the chain. Said Crean is without a doubt gone, and there's NOTHING HE CAN DO TO SAVE HIS JOB. Said Stevens is first choice, Donovan second and my dad couldn't remember the third (darn). So basically no new info and just secondhand rumors, but there's definitely discussion occurring within the alumni/booster community.
