Hollowell & Etherington transferring..
Mtodd replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Not surprising, what kid with any talent would want to play for a coach's team that scores 50 points a game? hard to get excited with offense of strategy like that. Poor off balance shots on a side to side scheme doesn;t work wwell unless dwayne Wade or Olidepo talent that actually gets all the way to the rim, slinging it off balance from 8-10ft is bad shot selection or turnover city we tolerated all season, no wonder we score so low. -

Good luck and wishes to these kids, but in reality they are average talent in a very tough league, role players at best honestly. Crean is a greate guy that does it right on the surface, but lets face it unless incredible talent this offense lends itself to turnovers and poor shots off balance shots. The hand off or dribble drive requires overwheliming alent like dwayne wade or olidipo that can actually get all the way to the rim or draw fouls, slinging it at the rim off balance from 8-10ft is a really low percebtage shot. He did say he wanted to run, which is a fine idea but let face it scoring 50 points a game is either not running, poor shots or mass turnovers, that style of offense without superior talent is a guarenteed recipe for failure. Unless underacheiving is ok then keep doing this same scheme, at best its a sweet sixteen exit with the top talent in the country. the shots must come in balance, in and out, it can't come from side to side off balance. that's only in the NBA where that works. Its terribly obvious, we're in deep trouble years to come if this strategy doesn't change. -
