Blatant trolling? Then I guess you're being called out for being a crybaby?
-
Yes! feel free. I'll look really dumb and everyone can point it out. You guys are taking this way too seriously.
-
I did. On a 22 degree morning. As a guy who has been his fan since his days at Louisville, I felt like it was my duty.
-
You are way more fired up about this than me. It was really one (1) tongue-in-cheek comment. I'm guessing you were one of the fanboys I mentioned who has now "changed your opinion." There's nothing wrong with that.. But there are people who predicted the situation accurately from the start. Why can't that be pointed out? A good example for you: being from Baltimore, there were many guys talking about how horrible Lamar Jackson would be in year 2. How he would never be a winning QB, how the formula wouldn't work, how he couldn't throw and would be injured by week 3. And there were others who thought patience was key and there was something to the kid and maybe, just maybe, he would make the leap.. Now all of the negative guys who said he sucked are "changing their minds" and literally lining up around the block to buy a Lamar Jackson jersey.. I'll let you guess where I stood. Just to be clear, this is the "unbridled negativity" thread, correct?

On top of being not great shooters, this group of guards has a really hard time defending quicker guards who drive hard and seem really inept at rotating to defend open shooters beyond the 3 point line. There have been so many wide open looks because of not communicating on defense.

How does being right make me look foolish? There WERE a lot of Archie fanboys who are now turning on him and acting like they didn't praise the move when it happened. I don't think there's anything wrong with pointing that out. Although if you're one of the fanboys, I could see how it would be embarrassing. Also, in my opinion, things started going south in the off season when nothing was done to address this team's painfully obvious shooting woes.

What does when I reacted to a post last have to do with my comment? The BtownBanners message board is not the end-all-be-all for Indiana Basketball.
-
Where’s all those people on this board who were clamoring for Archie a few years back and laughing at/turning their nose up at other candidates? Please raise your hand. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Our bad shooters continue to dominate our shooting
Baltimore Hoosier replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Not only is the 3 point shooting horrific, but the decision making in terms of when to chuck one up, exacerbates the problem.. So a team who can't shoot starts putting up treys during really important stretches or in the midst of scoring droughts, instead of looking inside, which is clearly the strength of the team. I feel like a broken record because it was the same story last season.. Bad shooting, bad decision making, too many unforced turnovers, leaving shooters wide open on the perimeter.. At some point you've got to re-access the coaching. I'm about there. -
State of the program
Baltimore Hoosier replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Makes me sad to say this... This is the most un-interested I've been in IU basketball in the last 25 years. I think it's the result of a lackluster recruiting class coming in for 2019 on top of the swings and misses for Miller and the staff. That's not to say the 2019 class is going to be bad, just saying that I have major questions about this team next season, even with the offseason additions. Shooting will probably be a problem and the staff didn't do much to address it. And all of this is on the heels of ALL of the under-achieving Crean teams that I got so pumped for every season.. Am I the only one who feels this way?... Disconnected is the word I would use. I'm sure things will change once we get closer to Hoosier Hysteria, but for now, I've turned into a passive reader of the board who really doesn't have much positive to say. -
That works out to about a foot... Should I start researching hotels closest to the NIT tournamnet?

Memphis vs Indiana

Hate to say it, but I think IU will be lucky to get an NIT invite. Memphis. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Recruiting.
Baltimore Hoosier replied to woodenshoemanHoosierfan's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Could care less about the number of "stars" a recruit has. Just give me guys who can play their role and give maximum effort every night. Things like not hustling back on defense, not working hard through the pick and roll, and getting beat by guys who can dribble and drive right to the hole with little to no effort and no help, HAVE TO STOP. I don't know if it was laziness, lack of conditioning, or an IQ thing, (maybe a combo of the 3) but last season was probably one of the "dumbest" IU teams I can remember. SO much talent on paper. So many unforced turnovers and sloppy play in general. And I mean "dumbest" in the most respectful way possible. -

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

I’m using facts and statistics. You’re changing the narrative, all over the place, and not responding directly to what I’m saying... It’s like debating my know-it-all 19 year old social justice warrior cousin. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
Baltimore Hoosier replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
One guy on this roster was actually at 35% or higher. His 4 game stretch at the end of the conference season put him there. So his 41% wasn’t even a consistent 41%. And the total number of 3 point baskets made by those 4 players you mentioned is 3.9 per game combined.. Or a total of 12 points per game. That doesn’t move the needle. I could quote you about 5 times per day. You’re low hanging fruit. I’m glad you have to keep referencing the one dumb thing you could dig up from the football message board. Your EXACT statement was that this is good enough to keep teams honest. And I’m telling you that the statistics that I just laid out for you completely contradict your point in every way possible. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
Baltimore Hoosier replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
What kind of statement is this? You lump Smith, Green, Al, and Rob together and say they shot 35%... Thats insanely misleading. Green was the only guy on this team above 40%, and Al was actually just below 35%. The other two weren’t nearly as accurate.. And as far as number of 3’s made by these four players? 3.9 total per game combined. And these numbers are bolstered by Green’s exceptionally hot shooting coming down the stretch. Nothing about this says IU was anywhere close to keeping teams ‘honest’ from the perimeter in any way whatsoever... I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. I’d also like to point out that Green was shooting sub 35% prior to the last 4 games of the conference season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
