Why'd you have to bring Warcraft into this :( -

I think it's mainly the message board tough guys that give most schools a bad rap (including ours). -
2017 March Madness Tournament Thread
Townie replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sooo true. Took the words right out of my mouth lol. -
This happens everywhere, Kentucky is just able to take it to the next level with their funding and boosters. One of my friends mom would hand out stacks of target gift cards to IU Bball players under Davis and Sampson. Bracey Wright got a brand new sports car the moment he showed up on campus. back to UK tho, I recall a story where Ryan Harrow was seen leaving the U.K. Facilities with a couple briefcases allegedly stuffed with cash...

Indiana falls to UNLV - 72-69 - 6th Place Maui Invitational - 1st place Embarrassment-for-Fans Classic

I feel awful for the fans that actually traveled to Maui... What an embarrassing showing by our team... -
The Maui Tourney I think is contracted years in advance. It's kinda wonky. I think we got our invitation the year we beat UK and everyone thought "we were back" for good! I remember reading somewhere that UK and some other schools actually turned down the Maui Tourney in place of other domestic tournaments. Lemme see if I can dig up an article or something. Update: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=kentucky%20turns%20down%20maui%20invitational Looks like they turned it down back during April 2013. Mentioned traveling being a burden. /shrug

The harsh truth is... we're just not elite anymore. It's a shame that a team like MSU is playing in it, instead of us.

(2016) SG Rawle Alkins to Arizona

Irony is I think Poythress is a 4.0 student and Academic AA or something.... -
The sad thing is... and it's also my biggest concern is that, it's starting to become the standard now. Duke and Coach K are emulating the same system/process. Scary to think it's one of those... "get on board, or get left behind" type of scenarios.

Not surprised. They were kicked out of their house my senior year. Everyone referred to them as ATSnow for a reason :)

Thanks, Kentucky for revealing yourself

i fricking hate that term "student athlete" it was just a slick term the NCAA came up with to justify not paying athletes :c -
Does "This is Indiana" really have pull anymore?
Townie replied to FindEndNow's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree with you, to a certain extent. I think we are much more than a mid-major program, despite our winning percentages. I would put us as a top 25 program, but no longer with the rest of the ELITE/Blue blood programs. Whats keeping us relative is the history, fans, and support. of course I could be totally misunderstanding your post if it's just a matter of semantics when it comes to what you consider "Elite" xD. When I think elite, I think annual final four contenders, top 1 or 2 of conference every season... etc -
Damnit, you ruined it when you mentioned it was a metapho! I totally would've been down for running Crean over with a train. especially for his coaching and substitution patterns
-
I agree here, it's one thing to root against other schools, but don't root against the kids!

haha i like the karate chop comparison, but watching it live, it didn't seem to be violent or heinous enough to warrant an ejection, definitely a flagrant 1 though! -

okay lets be real here. it wasn't even close to a punch, i dont think he even made a fist. it was like a wimpy back-handed slap. should've been a flagarant, but cmon man... don't fabricate a punch xD. if anything it reminded me of a back-handed pimp slap :P -

Trust me there is plenty of shadiness in every program. Mike Davis's runner-up team practically lived at my best friend's house and my friends mom would have a stash of target gift cards to hand the players. There isn't a single squeaky clean blue blood program. Take Duke and Coach K. Corey Maggette (sp?) had a lot of shady dealings. Lance Thomas owed something like $200k from stolen jewelry or something.

Not trying to be facetious, but with that logic... should be rooting for UK to go 40-0 then? I honestly don't think the previous year matters thattt much. Most of these guys are just more concerned about getting ot the NBA anyways...

he defends well by being long xD. The few games I've seen him come in, he's usually good for a block on defense almost immediately.

yup, this right here. Call me crazy, but atm I would take a Marcus Lee in his 3rd year over a Thon Maker. Despite Thon's tremendous raw talent, i think he will struggle adjusting to the level of competition against decent power conference schools. I base this on his struggles adjusting to better highschool and aau competition recently. There's also the possibility of Thon having eligibility and potential rule-breaking issues with his shady handlers :(.
