Negative recruiting happens all of the time with opposing coaches. I can't think of another occassion where a player is a lottery pick and actively recruits AGAINST his own university. Maybe you think that is common stuff but I have never heard of such a thing. It's blowing up on twitter and on 247, it's post worthy,

Because the same rumors have been swirling about what he was telling Goodluck. Because of his public statements about how he was used in the offense. Because Crean has three roster spots and can't seem to fill them. Because I believe the people who have told me this before this tweet was even thought of.

We just need the right coach and this program will be humming again. Unfortunately, hiring the right basketball coach isn't something the University has done since 1972.

Crean is toxic right now. If you want to ignore the obvious then that's fine. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. He more than likely won't be here a year from now anyway.

As for Cunningham, evidently he wants to be a perimeter player. South Carolina can offer him that.

Beillein didn't have any trouble this year having a young team and losing draft picks from last season. It's just too bad that we're going to continue to lose ground to football schools such as OSU, Michigan, MSU, Wisconsin and Nebraska. It's just really a pathetic situation.

The Big Ten is going to be brutal next season and we are more than likely looking at another brutal season. This, along with recruiting taking a nose dive, is why do many are upset and pessimistic. It's not just this past season, it's the overall future and direction of the program and how it is perceived by the media, AAU coaches and college basketball insiders. By the way, this is not a Crean thread, it's a program thread.

The reality is, Crean is struggling badly not only with recruiting but wlitj the perception of his entire program. Rojo and Blackmon committed before the season unfolded. Hoetzel was a big reach that was taken because nobody else wanted to come. How is 2015 looking? I know Peegs said not to expect a top 60 level recruit until after NEXT season. What does he know though? ;) By the way, this actually started with the Syracuse game. Not just losing in the sweet 16 with two top four picks but looking absolutely lost the entire game. That's when the murmurs started.
