I could see Wiscy ND happening.

We just played though. Don't they try to set unique match ups when they can?

Southern Indiana Is Bearable Again

[quote name="WayneFleekHoosier" post="165247" timestamp="1428459909"]true. The IU fanbase was ever present the #1 year. Lol. I still see a lot around our high school and other sporting events. A lot of Purdue and ND fans in Fort Wayne though. See some random OSU and UM fans. One of my kid patients today said he wanted to grow up and play for Kentucky and that is his favorite team. So..............naturally, I stabbed him in the gums with my explorer. Lol/jk[/quote Kentucky isn't a state, therefore it's fans aren't people, therefore it isn't a crime. -
That hurt to watch and read. That's why I love this program.

I mean, I'm planning on visiting their law school anyways....might just have to be a coincidence.

We were unranked somewhere, but that poll also didn't have Oklahoma...

My money is on Virginia

I didn't realize how loaded UNC might be; Frightening.

I've seen a lot of UNC and UVA at #1. ACC looks like it'll be fun to watch. I'm planning on looking at the B1G once we know rosters.

Appreciated. Him versus TB should be fun.

The officials proved that all tournament.

I wouldn't doubt that at least talked about the potential. Few teams in the country can offer an experienced PG, shooters that can create space and minimize double teams, a fellow big to deflect attention in the paint, AND Adidas. I hate sounding optimistic, but, in as unbiased a way as I can say, we are actually the best fit. -

Agreed. I'd say our best asset is Bryant and Crean's "success" (he was a top pick) with Vonleh who similarly stretched the floor. Hopefully those pieces in tandem will boost IU. -

You've been way too cheery lately. But I definitely agree with you- Thon has the potential to be a gem in some programs legacy, but he's not a sure-fire, day 1 stud. For all we deride Crean's player development, does anyone actually get better at UK? I doubt this is lost on Thon/his Handlers -
Will Anyone Duplicate 63-1 In Two BBall Seasons?
Bryan Medema replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Not a chance- The BEST opportunity for this was Florida in the mid-2000s; A team loaded with NBA talent, playing in a weak conference, and led by a great coach were incapable of playing at that level. Someone ran stat projections a while back to compare baseball in the 30s/40s to the modern game and noted the significant closure in the talent gap (IE the difference between the worst and best player on the field) and noted that the tail is catching up to the head. There are too many talented players out there for one team to utterly dominate like IU did in the 70s. -
Who Will Be Next Year's Hartman or Zeisloft?
Bryan Medema replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Holt or Hanner. Playing next to a true post-player will hopefully allow Hanner to consistently take advantage of weak-side/help defense opportunities and clean-up chances at the rim. Holt will be able to use the same advantage and, hopefully, outwork opposing 4s who can't handle him. -
Needs- 1) Defensive Cohesion- Our defense was disorganized and lacked communication all year. I think Bryant fixes this need by bringing the length and presence neccessary for our defense to tangiably improve while his attitude seems likely to energize our ability to communicate. 2) Consistency/Diversity- Our offense needs to find consistency- Specifically the ability to score from a variety of positions. We need to focus on finding multiple paths to the basket- 3pt Shooting, Slashing, Post-Play, P&R, High Screens, etc. Again, Bryant definetly helps open the offense a bit by providing an interior presence that the opposing teams won't be able to ignore and will hopefully open up outside shooting and slashing from our guards.

Southern Indiana Is Bearable Again
Bryan Medema replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sounds like Southern Indiana has recovered from the mutual apocalypses of IU/UK/UL's seasons. Meanwhile, in the wasteland of Southern, KY, there are no signs of intelligent life- Balance has been restored. In reality, the local fans haven't stopped complaining (I've even heard them questioning if Cal is the man/snake for the job) and the "fans" (the overwhelming contingent in the Army who identify as Alabama Football/Kentucky Basketball/Miami Heat*/Whoever Drake is a fan of) of Kentucky keep claiming they were actually cheering for Duke the whole time and that Frank the Tank is garbage. It's an impressive level of butt-hurt all around. That being said, all quite on the Southern front. They've remembered that basketball is just a false prophet, distracting them from their true God- SEC football. To hell with these herectics. -
Question 1: Does his attitude/comment after the game affect his draft stock? Question 2: If roles were reversed would Kaminsky even be draftable? Discuss.

You have to be 1-year removed from HS. -
He'd just reiterate that he hates Kentucky.

Agreed. I feel the athleticism of Hanner and the motor of holt will be a nightmare for opposing fours. Troy ACTUALLY playing the 3 consistently? Now that's exciting.
