    GOP Debate...

I prefer my friend's tag of "Moderate Extremist" - Basically he has views that support both sides of the aisle, but he feels super passionately about them.

    GOP Debate...

Carson seems like a nice guy, and everyone just loves the thought of a Washington outside, but his utter lack of political experience and acumen would make him A) A carpet for congress to walk all over and B) a liability in the office. You can be brilliant, but there is no substitute for experience.

    GOP Debate...

I think Rubio has a solid chance. From the look of last night he's incredibly polished and, with that, unlikely to make the kind of gaff that can end a campaign. He's also got the best antidote to the immigration debate, given that he point to the gang of 8 legislation he helped draft (though he has backed away from it since). The issue he's going to find is that a solid, polished candidate has a hard time making noise in a campaign filled with people who really shouldn't be there (contradictory as that is). Controlling the immigration debate is probably going to be the key to the GOP having a chance and I doubt anyone outside of Rubio has the finesse.

    GOP Debate...

Less trying to debunk and more approaching it from a statistics and historic stand point. I don't insinuate that the group of people he represents are significant in number or importance (they are) I just think that, once candidates start dropping their support is more likely to go to other candidates and narrow Trumps advantage. More importantly my argument stems that his language is more likely to (proportionally) galvanize more support for the opposition (in a general election) than it is to create new votes for him/his party. In the vacuum that is a primary, his strategy has the potential to be effective, but I contend he is creating more net enemies than friends.

    GOP Debate...

I don't think he won the debate. I felt a lot of shots were made in his direction to which he couldn't properly answer for or just came off as clearly unprepared. I don't think his typical support base (statistically speaking, under educated white people (WaPo Study)) really cared about the debate, but once others start dropping and their support moves elsewhere, nights like last night are going to hurt him.   That said, I think the clearly aggressive attempts by Fox (likely in conjunction with the RNC) to trip him up will only push him towards an independent bid which would potentially hand any democratic contender an electoral victory nearly on par with Reagan in 1984.

    GOP Debate...

From what I saw last night, the only two that have a chance in a general election are Bush and Rubio. You can call them dull and scripted all you'd like, but they clearly had knowledge of the subjects they were talking about and won't be simply out-debated. I felt like the other 8 would simply be embarrassed by Clinton in a debate (either by their lack of polish or knowledge of policy). I've said it before and I wholeheartedly believe that a vote in the GOP primary for anyone besides those two is a de-facto vote for Clinton (or the another Dem nominee).  Side Note: Best part of the night was Trump pointing out that "we wouldn't be talking about immigration if it wasn't for me." Somewhere a thousand GOP strategists face-palmed and cried. Given the expected swing states, that could be the catalyst that loses the election (whoever the nominee is).   Side Note #2: Seriously, Bernie Sanders versus Rand Paul in a debate (not necessarily for President, just for fun). I think they'd accidentally keep supporting the others opinions and not understand why. It would be beautiful, beautiful television.

Sounds good to me, maybe I'm just a really shi**y commissioner? I'll call Roger and commiserate. Yahoo it is then! I'd be more than happy to see whatever rules you've got, I'm open to pretty much any style of play- This is my scholastic activity these days (well, besides LSAT studying...)

As someone who's ran a league, I just think ESPN gives you better management tools (I also like that you can know your draft position more than 30mins out!) Either way, message me your email and I can can start getting this together

Also, since PPR league and Standard league are separate, any preference on platform? I'm running one off of ESPN already, but I'm not married to it

I got you JayBob.    I volunteer as pledge to run the PPR league.   Much like IU last year, many points will be scored....by both teams.   Message me (or just post here) if you're in.
  20. Meaning behind user name:  It means I am the least annonymous person on here.   Approximate Age and Location:    Mid-20s, currently in exile in Kentucky Are you a born and raised IU fan?  No. Grew up in Illinois, became an IU fan my senior year of HS.   When you first knew you were an IU fan?  When I'd decided to go to IU and thought "I should probably start watching them play." What sports did you play in High School and College?   Swam competitively, a little bit of football, virtually everything pick-up/intramural   Besides IU, favorite sports teams?   Cubbies, Blackhawks, Bulls, my fantasy team. Did you attend IU?   Yes I did. What is your favorite IU Basketball Memory?   Jumping from the third-row, behind the (opposite) basket for the Wat-Shot and running into a KY Security guard trying to keep us off the floor. Having my arms around T-Pritch and Zeller and thinking "Good Lord, I'm short." (6'1). Who is your favorite basketball player of all time?    Scottie Pippin. What is your favorite IU Football memory?  The tailgates mostly. Who is your favorite IU Football player?   .... Best IU Sports game ever attended?   IU/KY will probably never be topped, but IUvMichigan (#3/#1) where Oladipo had the dunk of the year (despite missing) is up there. What brings you to this board?  The double whammy of living in Kentucky and the Army's love of SEC football. I needed a place where sane people could discuss their insane fandom.

I like PPR just because it makes more players valuable (especially in a deep league). You don't need the guy who gets every touchdown to win.

At least try and follow the football team. If I can be a Cubs fan, I can survive IU football.
