After all the craziness that happened after Knight left, we can't just expect to be winning national titles again. I'm pretty happy with how Crean has moved us back into tournament territory. although last year was really rough, i'm happy to have Crean in there for now doing what he's done. I mean, if you think about it, we are much further along now to where we want to be than where we were when Crean first took the job. Progress. A lot is riding on this next season. If our program can be consistent (minus the blip of last year) in making tournaments, then we can become more and more relevant, thus getting better recruits and so on. Yeah, i'm in a serious hurry to get another title and make deep runs in the tournament, but it doesn't really work that way. You have to work towards it and take steps to make it there and sometimes the patience it takes is too much to handle. I think we are moving in a very positive direction and having a good season for 2014-15 will be crucial in us getting to where we want to be. We have the best fans in the country. let's rally behind our team AND OUR COACH this year in full force and will ourselves into winning some close games and tough match-ups. confidence is important in basketball and our guys need to feel like they are invincible on the court. We as fans play a major role in that. Rant complete.
exactly Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I honestly dont believe vonleh is nba ready and i dont see him making a huge splash in the nba for a few years as his game needs to develop a ton on other hand ready to see who bulls get with 16 and 19th pick :) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Not one bad year. 4 out of six years saw no postseason play. Next season isnt looking so hot either (predicted 9th) . The last 4 weeks of the 2012 season was pretty bad too.
tell me again how any coach could win with the roster ctc came in to Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
I think the fact that we're "constantly changing our uniforms" speaks volumes about the stability, (or rather, instability) of our football program. When one sees a team changing their unis, it's almost always because that team or program is on the down and outs, and by extension, trying to drum up excitement in the fan base or dollars to compensate for low gate receipts. I can't see where there's anything positive about it beyond the superficial. I really hope that Wilson develops a monster program that allows the focus of both fans and recruits to be on the play of the team, not the flashy gear.
that is the case sometimes but also letme bring up the example of oregon they are always changing uniforms but it attracts alot of major talent and they are consistently top 5 not on "down and out" Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

With no true big men in 2014 recruiting class we have two options at center position hanner and jurkin neither are good long term options hanner probably getting the start is 6'9"- 6-10" then at power forward possibly troy williams? Not much height or strength downlow could be downfall for team this year Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
I'm all for keeping our tradition in basketball, so this may sound kind of hypocritical but here football and basketball are two completely different histories. Our football program needs all the help it can get, and if changing the helmets gets more talented kids excited to join a program that has historically been a doormat so be it.
my thoughts exactly Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Some good feedback here guys. I appreciate the discussion. Believe me, I WANT Crean to succeed. And to me, being and annual threat is truly being successful at Indiana if we are honest with ourselves. Im almost to the point where I would rather have two four star 3/4 year players now than to have one 5 star 1/2 year player. I may create a topic on that tomorrow.
i dont see why everyone is trashing hoosier cowboy he seems to be honest not "trolling" Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
We all appreciate the rebuild, however that does not and should not get him an unlimited leash. Expectations shifted and now it's not "look what he did" it's "what can he do?". We have the tradition, we have facilities, we have a good academic institution, we have a passionate fan base, we are located in the heart of a recruiting hotbed. He has everything he needs, what will limit him is his own ability. I'm sorry, but I cannot look at any part of his resume and be 100% confident he can do it. Occasional run? Sure. Consistently competing (as the OP asked)? I don't buy it, hasn't done it in 15 years. I hope he proves us all wrong. I'll eat crow if he does. I hope this was a one year blip, and from here on we are in the tournament every single season which should be a bare minimum expectation, but I'm not sold that it was.
like i said crean isnt perfect there is alot more id love to see from him and he embraces the hoosier tradition hes great at recruiting but hes not the greatest in the x's and o's the only downfall but that hopefully will improve also is there really a truelly perfect coach? Creans not the greatest but hes far from the bad Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

So much negativity lets take a second to look back and see what crean has inheritted came in with no talent ( a walkon point guard starting) in his first year to making great players like zeller believe that we could be winners and having 15 game turn around in 11-12 year beating both #1 and #2 seeds picking him up coach of year award then making it to sweet sixteen that year and next Crean brought indiana back up and gave us all something to be proud of again Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
