definitely in the minority but I thought the jerseys were just ok. Would really like if we had alternates similar to what Kansas has past couple of years. The script Indiana would look great on the front similar to this script jayhawks.

I don't think we need him and why put him in there at this point. Embracing the small ball with Hanner out is our best chance. Spread the shooters, open up the driving and cutting lanes and roll past the Terps. -

Nice Tom Crean quote. What in that victory do you not accept? It was our best defensive and rebounding effort of the year. -

Let's do this. Can we respond and recover from the adversity of the past 2 weeks? Hope our guys like the sight lines in the United Center. -

If Crean can get LeBron in candy stripes I say he can stay. -
Haven't seen too much confidence but think this team definitely is capable. Excited to see how they play Thursday if for nothing else than it's the last Hoosier basketball of significance we may see for 8 months.

Who cares about the timing he is visiting which is really all that matters to me

This is great news. If anyone is in Bloomington go to the game, cheer hard and don't boo. This is the last home game for a long time. You may as well enjoy it and let the offseason talk wait for those 2 hours. Getting Bryant would certainly change next years outlook.

If we hired Guyton it would be incredibly disappointing. -

A former Knight player eh? Coach K? I kid of course -
Glass has not said the most important phrase in all of this talk "Tom Crean will be the head basketball coach at Indiana next year." Anything else he says besides this is necessary political talk for an AD.

A. In the B scenario Kentucky fans get the joy of actually winning it all. Even if the sanctions come out the next day they'd be so gleeful about being "Perect" and the undefeated season still happened. You can't take that away even if the wins are vacated. Also in scenario B Kentucky fans are in Indianapolis of all cities celebrating in Indiana bars about the perfect season. That is horrid.

I think Greg Marshall or Archie Miller would both be great hires. -

If Glass wants to fire him it is a simple conversation. Coach we can fire you today and pay you $9 million of the buyout you have due or we will fire you in July when the buyout is $7.5 million. Take your pick. -

Agreed! I stated this in a thread yesterday. Any potential new coach should be thought of in this respect: do you want 5-6 years of Coach X or 1-2 years of Coach Crean. We don't want to hire an average coach just to do it. This is a key moment for the program and the next coach HAS to be a home run hire. -
We can be the one and only school to rock these gems.

Stevens or Donovan would be great but unrealistic. I hope they reach out to see of course but not holding my breath. Realistically I would put my money on Marshall or Archie Miller being the next coach if Crean is fired. -

Yes that is generally how it goes in the negotiation of it. The University has the money for the buyout if they want to pull the trigger. There is always a negotiation and the University has some leverage with when the drop to 7.5 mil happens in the summer. -

He was thrown at as a generic coach that is someone you end up with if all the top choices don't work out. I don't think Brey is leaving Notre Dame -

Gotcha. I guess my point is that in this discussion of firing Crean you have to look at all outcomes and if you fire Crean now versus a year or 2 from now you lose a full 5-6 years of flexibility to get the right guy. The question isn't Crean vs Greenberg or anyone. It is 1-2 years of Crean versus 5-6 years of whoever we get. -

But in that same vein you're taking 5-6 years of Greenberg versus another 1-2 years of Crean? That is what we're committing to if we hire someone this offseason. -

I don't see how someone can say that Crean will not take us to the level we want (consistent final 4s, national titles) but Greenberg can. -

Stevens is the only home run hire. As such I think the program should position itself for Stevens. I'm not sure he's leaving after year 2 in Boston and I'd actually put money that he would not. There's too much promise and hope for that franchise for him to leave it now. He knew it was a long haul and I think he at least sees it past year 2. Now after year 3 maybe and especially 4 I think it becomes a bit different and he may entertain the idea. This is why I am a bit leery to just hire whoever is next up and lock them in for another 5-6 years as during that time the window where Stevens is available may be closed. In summary based on my inexact opinion we'll have a better shot at Stevens in 2016 or 2017 than 2015. Many are of the opinion that anything is better than the current regime and I disagree. You don't want to end up with the 5th or 6th or 7th guy on your list because you may be committing to a bag of goods for another decade before a change can be made. Just throwing this out there based on nothing but an interesting case study. Let's say Stevens, Hoiberg, Bennett, Donovan, Marshall, Pitino Jr and Collins say no and we hire Seth Greenberg. Will you really be happy to have him over Crean? I'd rather have Crean any day. -
