Cool!

We can agree to disagree.

Yep, you know who also missed on those four recent top 40 in the nation players from Indiana. Just prefer Donovan.
-
My vote after Stevens, which apparently won't happen, is for Donovan, S. Miller and A. Miller. Don't think Bennet would recruit well enough to get IU to the final four and beyond. Although it would be better than the status quo.

That's too funny!
-
IMHO, he or Stevens would awaken a sleeping giant, however, it may be hard to get them away from the NBA.

Nice to hear that his team apparently runs some nice sets to get good shots! -
Well said.

Appreciate the info. -
What a bummer for OG! Hope he can still get a big payday in the NBA.

IU vs. Rutgers official game thread

Could be getting to CTC. Green should have held the ball and CTC shouldn't have embarrassed Green like that in public. CTC does the blow by handshake when he loses and that's poor sportsmanship. -
Excellent!

Redding and Oliver declaring for the NFL draft
323SGrant replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Wish him well. Hopefully Patrick will be a more talented running back like Thompson, Dunbar, Coleman or Howard. Redding seems like a good dude. -
Unfortunately Knight was irascible and would have a few down years due to lack of talent. However, he'd win multiple B10 championships and get IU a national championship every five or six years. His focus was defense, fundamentals, good shot selection, minimize turnovers, screening, get fouled and make free throws while minimizing fouls from his players. Most of his teams played with poise and heart. The team with Cheaney, the Grahams, (Pat was often injured) Reynolds, Eric Anderson, Henderson, Bailey et. al. was loaded, but every time IU players touched the ball in that final four game vs. Duke, Valentine blew his whistle. There was a huge disparity in fouls called against IU in that game. Yes I'm partial, but many felt that Valentine didn't like RMK. The aforementioned, sans Valentine, is part of what many IU fans liked with most of Knights teams.

Ha! None taken. I guess CTC has put many IU fans in a bad mood. -

I wonder if Tucker's Crystal Ball will begin to move away from IU? -
Good to see PSU lose. Hopefully IU can beat them next time.

Game Thread: Foster Farms Bowl - IU vs Utah 8:30ET on FOX

Close game as expected. Their kicker was better and they had an exceptional running back, a la Coleman or Howard. Our backs are serviceable. Didn't see the jumbo back package. Maybe I missed it. -

(2017) SF Kris Wilkes to UCLA

I hear ya. No matter the star ranking, in the great majority of cases, to improve your chances of reaching the final four or beyond, it's important to recruit very well each or most years. Inside out works for me, i.e., top players from IN and then beyond. If the staff can't get the top IN players, I personally don't care where they are from and hopefully they would be similar in talent to those in IN. But, I certainly don't mind having the 5 star guys like CZ, Yogi, Bryant, Isaiah, etc. -

Didn't say there weren't. There are also many every year that don't outplay their ranking. My point was simply that when CTC had his best year, he had a great player in Wade. To perform at a high level, most coaches need top talent. -

Wade wasn't ranked a five star, but played like one.
