Prediction League Game Numero Dos...IU vs BG (09/13/14)
jmsgws replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
IU 28 BG 21 -
About right. I think IU by 7
-
I always kind of thought that is what sites like this were for.
-
For many schools that record would equate to a great coach. The difference being we have higher expectations. :)
-
I'm not Schoosier but... I will watch the games. It will have only a small change in my opinion of Coach Crean. My opinion of Crean is: Great ambassador of IU; Great administrator of the program; Decent recruiter; Average coach.

Lindy's Sports ranks IU preseason No. 28

completely agree about necessity. There seemed to be no other options last year. I'm with you in hoping that others will be the primary offensive weapons this year, and Yogi can become the PG that he was billed to be. -

Getting Snappy doesn't do any good. :) I think Yogi has it in him to be an all american point guard, but again I think it is potential. This year should really show it. He needs to be the distributor not the primary scoring threat. -

In the B1G last year, I would have rated Craft, Appling, and Mathieu ahead of Yogi. This year in the B1G: I think Jackson from UW and Mathieu from MN will finish on the 1st and 2nd team, not sure which order. -

You are talking Yogi's potential. They are looking at stats and past results. Some of it is team related, but Yogi has not come close to being one of the top 5 PGs in the country. Last year stats wise, he was barely top 5 in the B1G. -
IU's problem is that we just haven't had a couple of down years, we have had a couple of down decades.

Spent Saturday putting up tree stands!!! 10 days and a wake up!!!!
-
These are far from the biggest deer I've ever gotten, but they are the most important to me. My son got his first deer with a bow, his second year hunting. My daughter got her first one her very first hunting season. Being with them and getting them to enjoy the outdoors has meant more to me than any deer I have ever gotten myself. Heading up after work to hang tree stands tomorrow!!! The season is fast approaching.. Only two weeks in WI until bow season starts.. Hoping my Switchback, and Rage Broadheads get one this season.

Pretty good to see on the admirable scale that 6 of the top 9 are all B1G programs.

Link Kind of surprised where IU is in regards to good teams. Very glad to see them near the top of the admirable scale.

Prediction League Game Numero Uno...IU vs ISU (08/30/14)
jmsgws replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
IU: 52 ISU: 28 -
1) Indiana State- W 2) @Bowling Green - W 3) @Missouri - L 4) Maryland - L 5) North Texas - W 6) @Iowa - W 7) Michigan State - L 8) @Michigan - L 9) Penn State - L 10) @Rutgers - W 11) @Ohio State - L 12) Purdue - W I think 6-6 Could easily by 7 -5. I don't see 8 wins. I am hoping like heck we improve on 5 - 7, but that is easily doable.
-
Yeah, I don't take any 200 yard shots in Indiana, but with my rifled shotgun, 100 yards is well within range. You just have to have spent some time practicing so you learn the slug drop. I've got a friend that uses a handgun. He claims it is just like bow hunting, and he is probably right, but he only gets to hunt 9 days a year, while I get to hunt from Mid-September through the first weekend in January. :)

As you can tell from my avatar, I am an outdoorsman. Growing up in Indiana (70's and 80's) there never seemed to be a lot of deer, so I only hunted small game. When I moved to Wisconsin, I took up deer hunting, and now that is pretty much how I spend my fall and early winter. Gun hunting is fun, but I personally prefer bow hunting for a couple of different reasons: 1) you get a lot more opportunities to be in the woods, and 2) it is a much different experience getting the deer within 30 yards or so vs the 100 to 200 yards with a rifle. Every year I hunt in Wisconsin, and on my family's farms in Indiana. This year I get to add Missouri to my list. Looking forward to it!

Well, now that the B1G is on the east coast, it will be easier to see IU live!!

I have my tickets for Thursday! I've been giving Alex crap in his article about the "University of Indiana". At least he has gone back and edited the article to get it right! Here is a similar article in the local paper. Some of it is "plagarized" but some additional Q&A: http://www.postcrescent.com/story/sports/mlb/rattlers/2014/07/27/demuths-competitive-spirit-fueled-family/13233553/

Only the forums are dead.. I am still on Scout, and I like the writing that Terry and Justin have brought back to the site.

College Soccer changes coming?
jmsgws replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
Let's just make college sports like Pro Sports. Play 9 months out of the year and be done with it. I think it is crazy. -
Nope. He needs more experience. He has had a mixed bag at coaching even at the HS level. Sure he won a championship, but he took over a team that was loaded. He just moved up to the college ranks as an assistant. He needs some seasoning at this level before I would bring him on as a coach.

Well, I hope this goes better than when it happened to the Football Program! Wishing Coach Miller the very best.
