Gregg Doyel Talks with Joani Crean...
jmsgws replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Can it have a negative impact on this year's team? Probably. Though it is just as likely to have a positive impact. There is no way to stop the complaining. It is par for the course now days. I also think that anyone who does complain would argue that they support IU 110% that is why they are complaining. Me personally, I am not happy with the results Crean has had the last two years, nor am I happy with his lack of discipline last year and this year, but I know that any decisions are out of my control; so I try not to worry about it, and just hope this team does better than I think they will. -

Butler Student fans are simply kids that could not get into IU. :)

A coach should always recruit the absolute best players for their systems. Stars be darned.
-
I only used it to see if it was happening in another browser. :) The only time I use IE is when I am working on our phone system. The web site it uses will only work on ie.

Why did you guys just start the video ads auto playing? I used to be able to leave this up on my desktop at work all the time, but now will have to cut back on my visits, because I can't stand the ads automatically starting. :(
-
Thanks Martin: I wonder if my chrome settings changed from something. I know I had it set to not play anything automatically. I never thought about going back in and checking those! Even we computer geeks learn something all the time. Believe it or not in my real job I am a Google Certified Trainer! I am supposed to know all about that crap. :)

Chrome primarily, but the same thing happens in IE. It is only when particular ads with video are rotated to run. Doesn't happen all the time, but then all of a sudden all hear stuff coming out of my speaker, and it is an ad on this site.

Alvarez is coming back, because he doesn't think anyone else can coach as well as he can. (He may be right.)

The news in WI is reporting that the move had a lot to do with Anderson wanting to get closer to "home". I am assuming he still has relatives in the upper west. Seems like a strange move, but I am sure there are many factors that went into the decision.

I have not seen with this any IU team the last couple of years. What we got during the early season was the same we had at the end.

The only thing I would disagree with the original post is about Calipari. This years team is playing together, but only about one out of three do so. Remember how a couple of years ago UK fans were screaming for his head, when they didn't make the tournament? And every year they have been predicted to win the whole thing, and when they have lost (at least the games I have seen) it has been because the superstars got selfish.

The title for the thread is wrong. It will not be a long season. It will more than likely be a short season. It will just feel like it is lasting forever.

Well the WI gun season was not treating me very well. Sitting all day, Saturday I didn't see a deer. Sat all day Sunday, and finally about 45 minutes before dark, a really nice doe decided to walk in range. Got more venison in the freezer, now. Get three more days hunting in Lawrence County, Indiana over Thanksgiving, and then back to bow hunting until the new year!
-
Just got back from 5 days in Missouri. I didn't have any luck, but still a fun time. WI gun season starts this weekend. Get another 3 days hunting up here, then back home to Indiana for my annual Thanksgiving Weekend hunt. Hopefully the Indiana Hunt will also be capped with another bucket victory. Got my tickets today!

Thank God I'm hunting this weekend. Won't be able to yell in frustration, because I'll scare the deer away!

I think many of those that can't believe the guys were out at midnight the night before a scrimmage have forgotten what being an 18 - 20 year old was like. Not excusing the accident, but that is a normal night for a college kid. Also for those saying Crean has lost control of the team. that is possible, but college athletes drinking has been going on for a whole lot longer than Crean has been coach at IU. Not to mention it is a scrimmage for goodness sakes. If they were out the night before a game. I might feel differently, but it is a glorified practice. -
Not to pick nits, but.... You and I have a different definition of being middle of the road. I would agree that we were moving there, but I don't think we were there yet... I do think Wilson can get us there, but IMO he has this year and next year to do it. If he doesn't make a bowl next year. I think he will be gone.

Prediction League Game Numero Ocho...IU vs Michigan (11/01/14)

Still not convinced our Defense can stop them, and certainly not convinced we have a QB that can take some stress off of the running game. UM 38 IU 17 -
No hunting this weekend, so I took the kids to the range to practice for the gun season.. I also had to zero in the new shotgun I bought. I think I'm ready for the gun season, now as well. If you are looking for an accurate slug gun. I would have to give a plug for Savage. I bought the 220, and at 150 yards it is just as accurate as many of the rifles I own. I did have one flyer out of the 10 shots though. [attachment=1283:target.jpg]

I get it, that he is a good basketball player. However, from all of the things I have seen, I just don't want him here. Apparently team chemistry was a big problem last year, and it is also apparently much better this year. Why throw a wrench into the gears? I just don't think he is worth the risk.
