I can't imagine it is an IU issue.  I wouldn't think he would be on campus if it were IU's issue.

Holt should be gone, and Bryant suspended for a couple of games, with the warning "if it happens again, you will be gone." I doubt if that happens, however.

No I read every sentence.  But you can't have it both ways.  We are either competing in regards to facilities, or we are not.  I personally think we are on par with everyone with one exception.  We don't, come close to the living arrangements that Kentucky has for their athletes.  Indiana basketball is a blueblood, but this Adidas deal is not just about Indiana Basketball, it is about Indiana as a whole.  I've been around long enough (since the 60's) to know that Basketball is the major sport at Indiana.  However, that doesn't change this: The reality of any college athletic department is that basketball doesn't pay the bills.  Even at Indiana it is Football that drives the economic engine of all the athletic teams.  I would disagree that Indiana Basketball is dying. I am not even sure it is sick.  Are we having the success from the 70's and 80's?  Heck no.  Do I want that success?  Hell, yes!  However, the butts are still in the seats; we are still sought after for TV rights...  All of the metrics that count success are still there, except for the one that matters to IU fans.  National Championships...  But I don't believe the brand of uniforms is going to matter one bit for that.  There are other issues in play that are keeping us from another banner.

I'm sorry but I think a lot of this is simply BS.  Our facilities as a whole are some of the best around.  IU has spent Millions making it so.  Is AH a little outdated, yep, and they are working on that as I type this.  The kind of money we are getting from this dying brand, is one of things making it possible to keep up.  You talk about flexing muscle like a blueblood, well having one of the top clothing deals in terms of money is doing exactly that. The bottom line, though is IU is not nor has it ever been a blueblood in college athletics.  Sure we HAD a good Basketball team, but outside of soccer all of our other programs have been bottom dwellers. In regards to the banners, outside of IU fans, they don't carry any weight with anyone, and they haven't for about 15 years. IU is about a lot more than just a basketball program.  It amazes me how no one ever seems to remember that. Thank Goodness our Athletic Director does.  

The last couple of years I have been able to get a football poster with a schedule.  Does anyone know if they are out, yet, and if so who I contact to get one? 

In so many other threads we talk about playing for the name on the front of the Jersey.   I am always amazed about the passion that some have in regards to playing for the brand that makes the Jersey.   I know I am old and also old fashioned, but I could not care less about the brand.  Just the team name on the jersey.

I never "worry"about IU football.  but I always start the year with HOPE that this is the year.  Sometimes it does seem like the program has a curse like the Billy Goat.    If I thought an animal sacrifice at the 50 yard line under a full moon would do any good.  I would have broken into Memorial Stadium years ago..  :)

I know many IU fans hate Bo.  I personally think it is simply because he has owned us on the court, but that is not why I started this thread.   I saw in the paper tonight, that he is now talking about staying more than a year.     In Wisconsin, we are used to this, because we lived it with Bret Favre for 4 or 5 years, before he actually retired.  I hope Bo doesn't do the same thing.

Define Growing up?  I am not sure I am there, yet.  

I think like Hoosierfan2017 said, "but you'll find that at most big universities these days"  I think IU fits that bill, and they have for the last 30 + years or more.  I graduated in '87, was in ROTC and walked across campus almost every day in Uniform.  Many times had things yelled my way, and once was even egged.  I just think IU has a good contingent of conservatives, but like most college campuses the conservative students are vastly outnumbered by the liberal students.   

I am not sure that IU is one of the most liberal universities.  Maybe Socially liberal, but Indiana overall is still a very conservative state.  I think IU is a liberal bastian in Indiana, but that is probably as far as it goes.  I know the University of Wisconsin, is much more liberal than IU, and it doesn't even make the top list of liberal colleges based from US News and World Report.  (And yes they do rank everything in regards to college now days. )

I think Terry is learning part of the problem trying to write about IU during any season but Basketball.  Unfortunately for a good chunk of our fan base, the only sport is Basketball.  

I would actually not mind that season!  Of course it probably means we lose to Wisconsin, again, and I hate living up here when that happens.

I think that sentence says an awful lot about how the program has progressed the last few years.
