What do you guys think about Collin's rant about Northwestern Michigan game? -

The uniforms of both teams are kind of hideous, but I find the squiggly lines on Nebraska's a little worse. -

I admit I am gobsmacked that Nebraska is going to take down Wisconsin. :( -
The key word in your sentence is TWO......
-
i live near near Green Bay, Wisconsin....... I hear it all the time, and it is even farther removed than 20 years! :)
-
Of course he is claiming that. It allows him to save a little face...

When are these "kids" going to learn? How hard is it to simply call a cab, or a sober friend. :(

He sure did, but look at the 4 seasons before that dumpster fire. 72-73 B1G Champion Final Four, 73-74 B1G Champion, 74-75 B1G Champion and 1 loss on the season, 75-76: B1G Champion, National Champion, Undefeated season. I think those 4 years garner an awful lot of leeway. Also please remember I did not say to Fire Crean now, but bringing up your comparison to Coach Knight: After his dumpsterfire season he went 21-8, 22-12 (NIT Champ), 21 - 8 (B1G Champ), 26-9 (B1G Champ, National Champ). If Coach Crean has 4 years like that, I'll be one leading the bandwagon for another 15 year contract! :)

Looks like at least two Wisconsin teams will make the Tournament. GreenBay up 12 at 1/2 time in the Horizon.

I would agree with you that we are headed in the right direction. I would also agree that right now there is no one better that is available. I would disagree that we have seen results for the last four years. We have seen two good seasons. One BLAH season. One awful season. I'm not saying fire Tom Crean right now, but I am saying I think he should be on a short leash. If next year goes back to three years ago; then he should be gone. If next year we have another good year I'll be content to wait. I really hope Crean and the Hoosiers can prove me wrong. Because that means we are winning and winning consistently. I don't know how old you are, but I am betting under 40. Those of us that grew up on IU Basketball in the 60's through 90's have a completely different idea of what success is. Not even talking National Championships... We are longing for the days again, when a bad year meant 19 wins and a first or second round exit in the tourney. But even those bad years we were competitive almost every game. Did you know that from 1970 until 2002 Indiana was ranked at least one week every season? There is a reason Tom Crean said " It's Indiana".

Is Negan the chick that was on the radio? That would be a huge twist. We have always had male villians. :)
-
Most people seem to throw out Crean's first three years. I guess I am a bit of Bas$^#(d so I only throw out his first 2. He should have been able to have a decent record in year 3 IMO. Throwing out the first two means he is batting .500 in good years vs disappointing years. (again that is only my opinion.) To me, though it still comes down to the fact that his good years are not good enough to outweigh the bad.
-
People have been giving Crean credit for the turn around in the team this year. There is no reason for an apology. Back in the day when I was a sales manager, I had to fire people because of highs and lows. This is where Crean is right now. Many of us want consistency; we want high end consistency, but we still want consistency. The only way Crean, at this point, will be able to win me over completely is to have multiple successful years. So far he has one good year, twobad years , and then another good year. If you are going to have the highs and lows that Crean has, then those good years had better be GREAT years. and so far that hasn't happened.

There will be some additional seating. All of the articles I found say that Seating will not be "substantially" increased. I would take substantial to be more than 5%, but that is just my take. I don't care if they add some seats. It will just mean more revenue when OSU, Penn State, and Michigan come to town. We don't sell out any other games, so it really doesn't matter. Quite frankly I was more impressed with the thought they are proposing 50% to facility improvements and 50% to athletic scholarships. The increased scholarships won't do anything for Football or Basketball, but I think that could have a major impact on some of the other sports.

Awards and Superlatives - Men's Basketball 2015-16

HMM I guess to get New Comer of the Year: TB would have had to slam a players head in the ground a couple of times, and get suspended for a game. :( -

Not a good start. -
Why would you think that? At Butler he didn't have the ability to go after the "high major meat" :) We saw the same thing with Crean. He has recruited A LOT better at IU than he ever did at Marquette. The IU name is what gets the coach in the door.

Bo Ryan retires effective immediately- Investigated

I didn't go back and read everything. A couple of us at work were just talking about this. And we had come to the conclusion that the rumor was false because nothing like this had come out. [emoji3] Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk -

That rumor has been flying around since his retirement. Many dismissed the rumor because nothing like this had come out. -
I think Old Friend Said it best. We aren't asking for a National Championship every year, but we do expect to be challenging for the Conference Championship every year, because if you do that success in the other tournament will follow. Or something like that. I am very glad Coach Crean got his 2nd Conference Championship. It was the slide in the years in between that scares me.

I think it was when he hired the strength coach to be the head cheerleader during games. It meant he was able to spend less time yelling and clapping, and more time on managing the game. Note: THIS IS ENTIRELY TOUNGE IN CHEEK! but I really don't like the antics of the strength guy.

Analysis: How many people REALLY expected IU to go into Iowa and come home with the outright B1G title?
jmsgws replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
My hand is NOT raised. I'm with you Terry. I figured Iowa would cover the spread. At one point, I thought I was going to have to turn off the game. I had gone into the game saying as long as we don't get blown out, and we play well, I won't complain. Then when we gave up that 14 point lead, I had to turn off my computer, as I was getting ready to post something I was going to regret later.... :) I even had to get up and go into another room for a minute or two, because I was simply beside myself that we had given up the lead. My family, since my son left for college, refuses to be in the same room wtih me during an IU game. Well, I really pissed off my wife and daughter when I started yelling and screaming when Iowa missed that last shot as time expired.... All I can say is: WHAT A GAME!!!!!! -
