When we lost to Butler when we had Zeller. Butler had no big men left in the game, and yet we never took advantage of that by going inside to Zeller, and we ended up losing. That's when I realized Tom Crean is an idiot.

Yeah, I keep harkening back to those hires, too. None of the leaked names were hired.

The problem with the Billy Donovan rumors, not that they may be true or not, but so many people want it to happen, that they will accept any positive BD rumor from any anyonymus poster. Some of those that I trust are saying Billy is willing to listen, and that's where it's at, those who say Billy has accepted the job to replace Crean, or that it's already a done deal I am far more hesitant to believe. I still think if Crean is going to be replaced, which I don't doubt that he will, that the search for a new coach is ongoing, and will continue for a couple more weeks at least. Alot of variables at play.

He's new to that board, I'm thinking he may be trolling IU fans.

My sources tell me that I have no sources. So I resort to reading posts from anonymous posters on IU message boards.

I don't think not believing the Billy Donovan rumors is a negative thing, but it almost seems too good to be true, so many like myself like to temper their expectations about what to believe.

That would be nice...however, even though it's possible the current staff may know that Crean is leaving, I have my doubts that any one on the staff would have been told who the next coach would be, and it not be leaked to media, especially if it's someone like Donovan.

If the rumors of Crean's demise end up being true, then we better get cracking and chopping wood to get this thread to 1000 pages.

Maybe if we all try to believe Billy is interested, and that the money is right, maybe...just maybe it will come true.

I will say for those still holding out hope for Billy Donovan though as bleak as it sounds, remember the last couple of coaching searches neither Sampson nor Crean's names were leaked ahead of time, maybe...just maybe...they are killing the Donovan rumor to keep it on the down low.

Only because 0708 hasn't spoken to his sources for a few days.

Not sure the reason, but Hickory Hoosier says Donovan is a definite no go. Bummer.

He also said to dream on about Donovan being the next coach, so sounds like Billy isn't coming to Btown.

Any well-sourced posters will not reveal their sources, or they may lose that connection. And any long-time posters that are making up stuff to mess with other posters emotions will lose all credibility if what they say is going to happen doesn't happen.

Or it may be the other well sourced posters dont want to reveal as much just yet, to each his own.

It may be that others have heard it, and that's why many are saying wait until the season is over.
