Goat, my first instinct was to also use a few Idioms and tell you to "put a sock in it." But looking at the idioms you posted in the context of your sentence - Head in the Sand & Rainbows...only made me laugh. Let's examine the logic in your statement, "Sticking your head in the sand and pretending everything is fine doesn't do any good either." I propose you come up with what is GOOD. Good meaning positive feedback. After all, you are the one that said it. "Make no bones about it", Fans are meant to be a positive support. So I'm going to "go that extra mile" and "give you the benefit of the doubt" that you're still learning the true meaning of an IU fan. First, learn the Value of being a Loyal Fan. "The Ball is in your court", Goat....Send something, anything, just one thing that is POSITIVE. Come on..."You can do it!" Actual Definition of Fan: An ENTHUSIASTIC admirer or follower. Being an IU Fan is a solid commitment. It yells from the rooftops that we are NOT fair weather fans, friends, or parents. We are and always will be the greatest FANS in Indiana! Having a commitment speaks volumes to our character intended to inspire greatness. We have important roles as Dedicated & Committed Fans. It helps shape the lives of young men (and women). It helps build and shape a belief they have in themselves including the belief they have in their teammates and coach. Everything works together! Sound too profound? Let me make some PROFOUND SOUND for you fair-weather fans: <stomp with rhythm> Dedication, <stomp with rhythm> Commitment, <stomp with rhythm> Perseverance. D.C.P. ! It should never be taken lightly! Win or Lose, WE ARE Loyal IU Basketball Fans! "100 Loyal Fans have More Power than 1000 Fair-weather Fans. D.C.P.!!!!! " (me)
