What started it all for me was sitting in the floor watching IU basketball with my parents, who met at IU. I was born in 1969 so the early memories are good ones for sure. Two additional things. Watching the 1976 season at the tender age of 7 I thought the players were the biggest, most grown up people I'd ever seen. Now the players look like little kids. Perspective is funny. Mom and dad met when mom and some of her girlfriends got a football and went out in front of the dorm pretending they didn't know how to throw it, hoping some strapping young men would come along to "help" them. It worked. Their love of IU, the school, is why it was the only college to which I applied and why I went there. There have been good times in basketball and will be again. I'm looking forward to them.

Just have to say, as a senior in high school (close to the same age as Davis) I did the exact same thing. The two differences were; 1. It was in my high school parking lot (slower speed) and 2. The only damage was to the FM antenna of the car belonging to my friends parents. I was lucky. We all (mostly) think we're invincible when we're young because nothing has ever really hurt us. It's only later we see how lucky we were/are. I don't even remember my original point, just calm down. p.s. Yes, punishments for these infractions should be more severe than, "You miss the exhibition games"...

Can those who are blasting whomever, (players, coaches, etc) take a step back and pause before posting? Much of what is said is accurate and/or valid, but how it is said is unacceptable. Yes, we as a program have problems right now, but don't fan flames or start arguments just to be "right". Outside of trolls, we all love this school and basketball program so please keep that in mind while posting. Constructive comments or arguments are good for the forum, but hate and vitriol will never be. My 2 cents

I haven't heard anyone talk about this; doesn't the Athletic Director have some responsibility in all this?

@dandakich I had just read about Holts illegal consumption and OWI when I tweeted about Halloween..hadn't heard of seriousness of Davis.. Once I learned severity of Davis' injury from @JeffRabjohns I tweeted reports of Davis .. Know Davis and his dad well..praying for them" I think it was just bad timing

Yeah, I posted that without seeing this one. I was so excited I didn't look to see if someone had beaten me to it.

I've had the same thought about all TV channels. My guess is the contracts with the cable and satellite providers prohibit it. Otherwise no one would have cable, we'd only stream the channels we actually want.
