    IU vs. MSU Postgame

I know of one player that disagrees with you. He was ragged at the end of the season. What happened SSQ? I thought your defending Crean days were over?

    OT- rebelhoosier

Has anybody heard from rebel or know him personally? It's been well over a month since he's been active on here. His absence coincides with the first PU blowout so maybe he thought it wouldn't be healthy to be on the board seeing the season take a tailspin? Either way, I was just concerned about him. I've become more negative in his absence...:)

    (2016) C Thon Maker

What in the world!?!? Two of the top bigs in '15 the same day? And a day when our program (at least on the outside) is in a complete state of confusion?!? Welcome to the circus, Mr. Bryant & Mr. Maker!

    Fred Glass.

Would you mind expounding SSQ? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Really? I thought I heard something about them sipping chai tea before a session of tai chi? Rumors are crazy these days...

    Potential coaching change suggestions

You got me 87ash.  My brain has gone from a "brew" to stew to mush.  I would like to see us go this route, though.  We need to connect to the past in the worst way...but more than EVER we need to be relevant in the present.  We don't need the next, hot, young coach.  We need someone who understands and fits Indiana basketball.

If you're talking about Alford, I could see that getting some mixed reactions...

    Potential fallout from coaching change

I hope you're right, bro. But my gut tells me we have another year with this stuff. If we're half full 4 minute before tip in what was arguably the biggest game of the year, imagine next year...

    Potential fallout from coaching change

I don't think people understand the culture of the IU administration. Basketball is not their highest priority and only a few give a rip whether we're winning NC or not. They just recently gave Glass a huge vote of confidence. What do people expect? An Australian president to lay down the law because we aren't contending? I just don't think "those " people are there anymore. As long as the program is making money most of them are fine.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

I think everybody knows "it's over" but how's it gonna end? Will it end in three weeks or end in a year and three weeks? If you give him another year then next year will be absolutely unbearable as a fan and we'll be wasting everybody's time. But there's no getting momentum back now.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

An AD comes out and says these thing before a season starts or maybe during a rough patch at in the middle of the season.. . It would be odd to say them three weeks before you can him.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

No, this is exactly what I was told this morning in a conversation with someone who works in the department. His words to me we're, "he (Crean) is making it difficult on Fred, but he"ll (Fred) stick with Crean." I think we're kidding ourselves if we don't take what Fred is saying with some weight. Why the heck do the interview if you're gonna fire him? Nobody made Fred say anything.

Are you being sarcastic? I really do think he's around at least another year. I don't think there's a whole lot to question there. Here's to hoping that Glass talked through the back channels to Stevens and was told "let's talk next year." Pipe dream ...I know.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

This is what I expected to happen but hoped wouldn't happen. This is precisely why I have zero confidence that they will hire the right guy when the time comes. What a mediocre, superficial, shell of the program we used to be we've become. This sucks. Nothing personal, Coach Crean.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

Apples and oranges. When unethical conduct warrants a coach to be fired in the eyes of the administration then a change is made...immediately. Sampson was canned in February. But when you're fired for normal reasons you obviously do it right after the season so the next coach has time to piece something together. That September transition went real well for the program, didn't it? Unless it's the only time you can make the change, July is less than an ideal time for a coaching change.

I'm not sure how long Matta's career is going to be. The guy has chronic back issues...even has a special chair on the sidelines.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

Sorry, I edited the original. My original post was not a question. A family member who works within the athletic department told me a week ago "Yogi is gone." I didn't ask any questions
  23. hoosierinIll

    Potential fallout from coaching change

Those inside the program believe/know? that Yogi is gone.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

Yeah, but who's going to fire a college coach in July? Got to give it to Crean, he has some smart lawyers.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

That, or he was doing two things to the fans: 1. Baiting them to read his article. 2. Setting fans up for the disappointment many are going to have when Crean is retained. I want Stevens (not gonna happen) as bad as anyone, but Glass will not fire Crean. It's all about the cash, and costing your department 12 mil is not something glass is going to do if he can help it. In the meantime, apathy spreads east of the Wabash.
