Random IU FB Recruiting Info
RBB89 replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Here is a really good read on Readus from the Texas SB Nation site. Explains why he is so under the radar. He played 6A football in Texas (that's big boy level) and became pretty dominant late. Up to 267 lbs in September. http://www.burntorangenation.com/2015/9/2/9232105/texas-longhorns-recruiting-shane-buechele-sam-ehlinger -

Appears to be Drayton. -
Actually we have done the crib sheet thing, but didn't that end up with students yelling at a Purdue player's parents about his sister with a disability? Why in the hell would you put that on there? I get annoyed with the complete lack of creativity. Yelling YOU SUCK and BS and A-HOLE over and over is too stupid for words. A little well placed sarcasm and some actual (fun, not vindictive) research into the players would be nice. But, it's too unorganized, so...

UK has a tiny student allotment compared to us. I'm sure Jim Bob Joe from the hills is dying to get tickets.
-
I can vouch for that. My one year in BTown was 2007-08 and (before the crap hit the fan with Sampson) there were a ton of student empties even with all the Gordon hype. It was just less noticeable because seats were assigned.
-
I always loved listening to my fellow students whine about being out til 3 am like it's their job. Noon is not too early.

Of course it's corny. They weren't doing that because they were overwhelmed with holiday cheer and wanted to go caroling, though. But, to each their own.

What? That was funny. The band has been doing stuff like that for years to distract FT shooters. That's creative and we need more of that.

LOL there's not going to be a delay. -
Hey, it's cold in Assembly Hall too! It's rough out there. /s

How thoughtful of him.

Ticket sales aren't down at all. The games are sold out. The problem is students not showing up.
-
Pffft...you're so mediocre that you're just settling for apathy. Wait...
-
Dude, stop. We are 16-3. It's not "apathy." It's actually been an issue for a while, it's just more prominent now with the new seating system. And this is a national problem: http://kentuckysportsradio.com/basketball-2/examining-the-low-student-attendance-epidemic/[attachment=3264:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1453400663.672919.jpg]

OK, this is a tad exaggerated. They still oversell the student section. We sold 11,000+ tickets for a 7,800 seat allotment. We're 16-3 (6-0). That is not mediocre. As I said earlier, Bama football and UK hoops have had these issues too. This isn't a Crean thing, it's just frustrating to see and makes me think we may need to limit student tix a bit since they have so many other options now. And as far as "never an empty seat", that's just patently false:[attachment=3261:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1453348145.549295.jpg]
-
Then why are they buying them? That's $200+. If there was a lack of interest we wouldn't be selling 11,000+ tickets for a 7,800 seat allotment.
-
Yep. That entire balcony is GA student seating.
-
OK, maybe I'm misunderstanding here, but you know ahead of time that it's GA right? If you don't get there early, the best seats will be filled. That's how it works. Leaving the balcony empty is begging to have the section reduced, especially when there is a wait list. Every school has some court side seats saved for donors. Duke and MSU are no exception. It's about $$$. Also, those schools only give students about a third of the seats we give to our students, so you may not even get a ticket there. If I were in charge, I would put students behind the benches on court level and leave the other side for donors. But, I'm not.

(2016) OG Mackenzie Nworah to IU
RBB89 replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Hell yes! -
Our offense is routinely highly rated under Crean. The problem is our D is usually atrocious. There isn't a single team out there that doesn't occasionally look bad on offense. I've seen a ton of standing around from Kansas and MSU lately...they've looked awful. And yes, I'm referring to other programs because IU isn't some magical program elevated above the others. Bryant has been pretty dominant lately and we've been really making a point to get it to him. Last night they were giving us the 3, so we drilled 19. Good teams can win in multiple ways.

How about we let the season play out and enjoy watching an 11 game winning streak and games like last night? Talking about firing or keeping someone in January is pointless. Or is that crazy talk?

Randle El regretting ever playing football

There are like 40 rounds in the baseball draft, so he definitely would've gotten a shot. -

We may see Dutra, Crawford, and Thompson at the same time with the 4-2-5.
