JS - I'm not going to even try to argue anything remotely positive about IU Defense. I'll just leave it at they're awful. It's a shame, because with a serviceable defense (35-50), they could be a real tough out.

Swat - we stayed in that zone defense, because this team has zero concept of what good help side defense is and they can't guard the ball to save their lives. Oh and their zone is too slow to react and it gives up wide open shots. They should not shoot another shot in practice, until they can learn basic defensive fundamentals. Playing good defense is simple - know where you're supposed to be and out work the other team. It's awful and it has not gotten much better from the start of the season.

I might become a Duke fan. Im getting too old to watch this team. I thought I was going to stroke out watching tonight.

It's simple - our defense is awful. I'm not sure I've seen such poor on ball defense from a college team ever and their help side defense is almost as bad. Minus the few minutes each game they wake up and play defense. So when we need to stop the momentum of the other team we can't string together stops, so the offense starts pressing and we start missing wide open shots. Why we did not start driving the ball earlier is baffling.... I'm baffled.

**** UK. We just need the IU money movers to make it worthwhile for about 8 of their players to get the Flu game day. Clearly Lyles is prone to the sniffles.

I guess my point would be don't call the ticky tack fouls, but call the blatant fouls where the offense player is bump and hindered to get to a spot or his shot off. My biggest issue is when the call some BS touch foul 30 feet from the basket and miss the obvious bump 4 ft from the basket on a drive. Yogi was getting bump around pretty good last night without many calls. And yes Hollins arm bar was annoying.... I do agree a busy whistle kills the flow of the game.

I agree with that and they need to come up with a happy medium where they allow good defense and still allow freedom of movement. I want physicality, but sometimes the refs allow too much unneeded contact.

  The refs need to control some of this physical play. I'm all for hard phyisical play, but they need to protect the shooter and thats why the no call on TW was so bad. The best way to improve scoring would be for the refs to start calling fouls that control defenses from restricting movement and protecting the shooter. Too many no calls and the refs last night were awful and MINNY got screwed a few times too.

You guys kill me. I think I followed that up with that I was kidding, but Cal clearly meets most of your guys criteria for a good coach. I would bet most of you would bitch for a while and thump your chest about how great a fan of IU you are and how could we sell ourselves to the Devil ... I'm sure DD knows a lot more about how the ADMIN has been to former players, but I'm not so sure I'm buying it. It seems this crap always comes up after a big loss and when we beat a top team Crean should be coach of the year....   That just does not jive with some of the other stuff I have read, but I have no idea what is true and I'm sure as hell not part of the "old guard", so no inside info from me....
