I think he's done a good job coaching the offense end and at times we've looked really good with spacing and ball movement. On the defense side of the ball, he gets an F. Great teams need both and good teams more times than not play good defense. That's why good college coaches stress defense and with this team I'm shocked defense was not the main topic every practice, so I wonder why we're so God awful on defense...

I would give Coach Crean the buy out money and thank him for directing IU through one of it's darkest periods. At that point, I would do everything under the sun to get Brad Stevens. It's a standard bell curve and unfortuantly we've reached our peak with Coach Crean and we're now on a downward descend.   I like Coach Crean and I truly wanted him to succeed at IU, but the writing is on the wall.   We have the players to play top 50 defense and we're hovering around 250. To me that's unacceptable and falls directly on the head coach.

I've been a fan since 74 and this might be the first time I've stop wanting to watch the team. And I don't think it's all on Coach Crean, but enough is enough. We need Brad Stevens sooner than later. I'm convinced he's the answer. If not, I would go grab the best HS coach in Indiana and give him a shot. I'm guessing they can teach basic defense principles or talk up a team to play hard. I've been a Crean supporter and I'm just sad at this point.

Some would say the Knight hire was a shot in the dark. I know different time and position, but sometimes you need to take a shot at a dream to get to the place you want to be...

  I agree with the disingenuous, slime ball and shameless self promoter. I would say he's a good coach that will most likely have a great record. But from a strictly coaching standpoint he coaches great defense with great athletes/players and coaches dribble drive with the same great athletes/players (making them all mesh together is where he shines). At the end of the day, I guess win/loss will be the best indicator of his "greatness" (and that’s a pretty good barometer to use). Of course only time will tell, if he gets to keep all his W...   I'm basically agreeing with you....

I can't argue with Cal results, but he's so fake it makes me want to throw up. He gets results with great talent and gets them to play together. I'm not sure his coaching allowed Harrison to hit big shot after big shot last year, but maybe it was. I guess he did coach good enough to get his talent a chance at the end.   At this point, I'm not comfortable arguing what I think Coach Crean can accomplish.

And I don't think Cal is a great coach, but he's great at marketing and getting great players to live the dream $$$$...and play within his system. It's amazing how he can gets those Kids to buy into playing those minutes and sharing the glory... I'll give him props for that.

    Yep... both right and I don't think the apple falls too far from the tree.. I'm not sure Josh is half the coach of Cal, so we will see how long it continues ...
