Archie is too good to accept ‘these are not my players’. He will hold these players to a high standard and will make something out of this season. I’m not sure that will equal great success this year, but I’m guessing we see a big change through out the year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

At some point people will let go of the Crean excuses, we got taken to the wood shed and it hurts. Coach Miller is the answer and I would guess he’s not blaming this loss on Tom Crean. Coach Miller is a leader and he’s going to figure it out. I’m not sure the answer is more 1 and done type players, because we just got ‘handled’ by a bunch of college 4 year players. IU played bad, but ISU played out of their mind. It’s one game and let’s see how the team reacts to this embarrassing loss. Hell after one game last year, I thought possible final four. It’s a long season and won’t be defined by this one game. Some players are going to have to step up... let’s wait a few games before we start overreacting to this bad performance. Not a fan of the players name on the back of the jersey, but the key is that they play for the name on the front.

The offense did not look good in the scrimmage at times, but from what I've read Archie is spending a lot of time on defense during practice. I did like the use of some off the ball screens and I think the offense will come in time. I''m interested to see how the defense looks early on, since it's a pretty big change in philosophy on the defensive end. When done right the pack line defense can make teams hate to play you.

I'm not glad. To be honest, I wanted Coach Crean to be the answer. He's clearly not, but I don't get any joy out of any of this. I want a change and I want IU basketball to be great again. I agree the Duke model is perfect. Greatest college coach in the history of the game and 10 McDonald all Americans. Sign me up. I get your point.... I agree. Leadership is an issue. I think a different model that promotes senior leadership might be the answer (even out the classes). But I agree you can get leadership from many areas, which I don't think this team has yet. You're pointing to Crean and his ideology, which might be the underlying issue.
