    IU Fans sabotaging the coach

I find this all pretty entertaining, very little to really take seriously. Do recruits have twitter? Do they have Facbook pages? Instagram? and yet a fan forum is somehow going to stop someone from coming to IU? Highly unlikely,   What about the performance of the team this past year, think that might have more sway than a cranked up fan calling for Creans head? How about a lack of improvement from December to March, that certainly wouldn't have much to do with a recruit wanting to go to another school? In almost all the recent recruits one underlying theme to why they selected Indiana was the player improvement, based on Victor Olidipo in particular, and his selection as the #2 draft pick in the NBA. Go back to the post announcement interviews, how much improvement do you think they saw this year? Somehow MY opinion on Crean will change the ability for IU to recruit?....Get a grip, we fans opinions simply aren't that important. Quite the reach, and far beyond belief.
  2. He looks good on youtube, but then again who doesn't? He'd need to add some muscle to his frame to play down low in the BIG 10. Not so sure he'd contribute as a Freshman, but who knows how the transition from high school to college will effect an 18 year old?
  3.  Looking into his recruitment mostly mid-majors. He seems to be a bit of a late bloomer, IU would be the only Big10 school on his list, has room to develop,6-8, 210, a little bulking up would help.

Im so tired of all this negative talk

Myr, to some degree I can agree with you, in other aspects I can't. To think that none of that team was salvageable I couldn't possibly agree with, and watching Dakich coach that group,  showed me all I needed to know about Dakich's coaching. His interaction with that team on the bench, during time outs, his body language and their reaction to him, in my eyes was very negative. I appreciate his stepping in under the circumstances, but he did little more than chase out not only the bad, but the chance of keeping any of the good. Mind you this is my opinion, and only my opinion. Of course since then I learned to really dislike him for his total negativity concerning most things IU basketball wise.   @NapsFinest, I doubt many were surprised at Dakich not getting the job, he was ok at Bowling Green overall but his last 2 years not so hot 9-21 then 13-18, certainly not ready for a big time job like IU.

    Who are you pulling for...

Just rooting for it to be over quickly, not having Indiana in, I just want it over!

Who would you hire to replace CTC?

Manning has coached Tulsa into the NCAA 17-16 first year, 21-12 the second year! You'd have to think Danny could recruit, NBA experience as a player, NCAA Champion. Tulsa has a reputation for producing coaches, Nolan Richardson, Tubby Smith Bill Self, pretty good history.

Im so tired of all this negative talk

I have been an IU fan for a very long time, (one of the advantages of age) I remember a good man named Lou Watson who couldn't coach, Mike Davis and Bracey Wright all but kill the interest in the program, Kelvin Sampson cheat IU into oblivion, and Dan Dakich's ego and mean spirit chase away what was left. I ranted at Bobby Knight from at least 5 different states, and now I get to watch CTC recruit really good athletes and not know what to do with them, and you think I shouldn't vent my frustration? I am basically a civil guy, so I won't retort to that idea with the same language I'd use in private, but I am going to vent and if that makes me less of an IU fan in your eyes, I guess I'll just have to learn to live with your disappointment.
  8. Best basketball move IU has made this year!

    TOM CREAN FIRED

I wouldn't be upset if he went now, and I would understand if her were given another year. My frustration with Crean started last year this year was just the fruition of my concerns. Last years team had the players, the mixture of experience and youth and the Sweet 16 was the best it could do? No improvement from the year before with the personnel IU had was a failure! This year had promise, but totally disagreed with the pre-conference scheduling then no real improvement overall? This is IU, it is expected to be a contender EVERY year! If there is a coach available this year that would have the confidence of the University who wouldn't be available next year, fire him, if not stand pat until there is a plan! Unfortunately, I have become accustomed to disappointment,

Who would you hire to replace CTC?

I like some of the names mentioned, at least I am not seeing the re-runs like Crews and a few others. I somehow doubt Crean's job is really in any kind of jeopardy this year. I can't see IU being aggressive enough to go out and get a guy like Donovan (although I would love to see it) and there isn't any connection that I know of to the school. Pastner is a great recruiter, not sure about his X and O's, haven't seen Memphis play much, but if there is a change it almost has to be a sure winner in all aspects. If IU keeps up as they have recently the program will not have the stability it needs to stay in the forefront. Dane Fife is an IU guy and I do like the idea of the coach having ties to Indiana, but then again, I wasn't upset over the Idea of Mike Woodson. If IU is going to recruit at a high level his NBA experience would have to help. I am certain Cal uses his to sell Kentucky and he wasn't a great NBA coach by any means,

    Vonleh Leaning Towards NBA Draft

I really have no ill feelings towards N.V. and certainly can't blame him, although I think he'll spend a lot of time in the D-league as was said in the article. If there is no truth to a coaching change and we see a few defections, the next few years will be ROUGH! Who will want to come to play for a coach who loses the desire of his team members to play? Although, I like many believe that last years team had more potential than what they achieved, I had high hopes for the program, now I am hoping that all we lose is N.V. to the draft, and maybe Jeremy Hallowell.( not that I want to see him go, just never got the feeling he was liking his position on the BENCH).

    Ronnie Johnson Leaving Purdue

Have seen it on twitter then denied on twitter, who knows?

    Crean gone?

Boy, if Cheany or Crews either one was THE hire, I might as well become a Kentucky fan! Loved Calbert as a player, but a little coaching experience would certainly help, and Jim Crews is a wonderful mid majors coach, he'll never be a big timer or he would have already been one. If we are going to start rumors make them good ones! John Wooden was cryogenically frozen and we are going to defrost him to coach the Hoosiers! Now that would be a rumor! None of this boring stuff, Phil Jackson to Coach Hoosiers! Something we can really sink or teeth in!

    Mike Woodson

When an article like this one appears in a newspaper with a decent reputation, you have to expect fans to discuss it, it's only natural. I doubt anything will happen with it, but it does make for conversation. You may disagree with the posts, just doesn't change the fact that the article appeared, and that there are those who lack confidence in Crean. The confidence, or lack there of, didn't start this year, it started last year with the loss to Syracuse, and how the game was lost. Crean is a public figure so his job is always up for discussion, and he is the highest paid employee in the state, and so therefore it comes with PUBLIC SCRUTINY, as it should.

    Mike Woodson

Banksy, I agree 100% , I forgot to mention a couple of things, #1 maybe even get RMK to Bloomington and back in the Hoosier's corner,(NOT as a coach) and he could intimidate Dakich into shutting up!...(maybe)...lol

    Mike Woodson

Living in Atlanta, and watching what Woody did with what amounted to one of the worst NBA teams I have ever seen,(and I am a huge NBA fan) I'd support the move 100%. Don't let his NBA record scare you, he had NOTHING to work with here, ownership in disarray(actually suing one another) and he built a winner! The Hawks GM was Billy Knight, and Billy couldn't draft a "for sure" player if you put a gun to his head, the owners were in court with each other, and the players were a hodge podge of bad picks, and re-runs, and he built a WINNER! In New York he has done a great job in turning them around and having a 50 win season just last year, and if working for James Dolan isn't a handicap, I don't know what would be! Woody CAN coach, he could get players attention, his resume, coaching tree and mere presence would garner attention, think about it, who he worked for, who coached him as a player, the development of the teams he has coached. If it were to happen, and I doubt it would, bringing home a Hoosier, to coach the Hoosiers with his experience, I don't think even the doubters would be disappointed!

    Indiana Pacers 2013-2014

Last night's game against the Clippers was beyond expectations! West thrown out at the end of the first half, Scola in foul trouble, Hibbert on the bench, and the Clippers make a run only to be turned away completely! Amazing performance!!! PG was great, and that dunk was beyond the pale! Lance was Lance, scoring, driving, the assists and rebounds along with a few dance moves! That was a TEAM! Great D, and a lot of ball movement, complete performance!
