Someone asked earlier in this thread, who is better then Crean out there? It looks like Richard Pitino in his first year at Minnesota is going to do better then IU this year.

I got a better one! Howard should coach and Crean should set on the bench! -

Howard is a rebounding maniac! Of course he is just rebounding all of his own misses lol -
What makes us IU fans so hard to please?

Probably not! But he learned under one of the best. He knows IU basketball, and he is a great coach. There are a lot of players and coaches I wouldn't know about if they didn't play for IU. I am an IU fan, therefore I know our players and the ones that are coaching. -

If we end up beating Penn State at their place, does that mean that we are improving, and Crean should keep his job, and that we are on our way to a NCAA championship? -

Alford has recorded more NCAA victories (463) as a collegiate head coach, age 48 or younger, than any other head coach in the nation. Alford, who will turn 49 on Nov. 23, 2013, has totaled a 463-235 overall record in 22 seasons as a collegiate head coach. He began his collegiate coaching career at the age of 26 at Manchester College -
Do I want to get rid of Tom Crean? You bet I do! I think he is a great guy, and he is enthusiastic, but he isn't a coach. I haven't liked his system since he came in. His offence sucks! He doesn't know how to post a big man inside and throw the ball to him. Winning teams play inside and outside. He doesn't discipline. I would bench players that are throwing the ball away like this team does. I don't care how young a team is, they have to be taught, and part of being taught is discipline. He is a great recruiter, but he isn't a coach.

I'm not sure that us IU fans are hard to please. I myself don't expect us to win the NCAA every year, but I do expect us to be competitive. I am not interested in seeing Tom Crean bring in great talent every year as a great recruiter, but not know how to coach them into playing together as a team. It is one thing to say he had to rebuild, but come on he has had five years. He has plenty of talent on the team this year to make them competitive. I don't expect them to win it all because they are young, but they should still be competitive. People that are dishing on Alford for his coaching and saying that he hasn't done anything, haven't followed his coaching very well. He has done well every where he has been besides Iowa, and I'm not sure anybody will do well there. The teams he has been on, haven't been the kind of teams where you can get the recruits like you can at IU. His intelligence for basketball is high above Tom Creans.
