    Robert Johnson or Emmitt Holt?

Neither. Collin. Plays hard, rebounds, stretches the D.

(2016) PG Xavier Simpson to Michigan

IU will probably have a 5-6 man class in 2016. It makes sense to offer a bunch of kids. Xavier is another option if we don't land Bruce Brown, who I think CTC wants the most.

    ESPNs Way too early top-25

I wonder at this point if CTC loves the 3 guard lineup or if he did it out of necessity. Because I feel like this year he'll have more options. He could go Yogi, JBJ, Hartman, Troy, Bryant or he could swap Hartman for Holt or he could throw Bielfeldt or Morgan in there somewhere. IU no longer has to play small so we'll have to wait and see if CTC plays small regardless.

A little low but not shocking. Have a good chance to win it all this year. Cmon number 9!

Five Key Questions for IU Football

While I think all these questions are valid I do think there's a lot to be optimistic about. The OL is stacked. You have at least one future pro (Feeney) and another guy who has a great shot at being drafted (Spriggs). Plus the OL depth is better than I've ever seen. This unit can handle injuries and can rotate fresh players late in the game without missing a beat. The RB unit is another strength. I know no one is proven other than Howard, who has little experience against B1G level competition, but there's talent there. Redding is a one-cut runner with no hesitation and a ton of burst. Brookins looked fantastic in the spring game and Mister is supposedly fully recovered from his injuries. The front 7 on defense should be the best IU has seen in a long long time. Lots of talent and experience. I think they'll be more disciplined and will stay in their gaps, which has hurt them tremendously in the past. The DBs will be a weak spot, but as Wilson mentioned on media day the guys were losing weren't all that great. So the drop off hopefully isn't significant. At least teams won't be able to run over us at will (I hope) as they have in the past. Finally Sud is back. Sud is great. Sud will find the receivers, whoever they end up being. Sud will lead us to a bowl. Please please please stay healthy, Sud.

    Big ten Big east challenge

Creighton? Not my first choice. Should get a W though.

    IF Yogi were to leave

Will this team be good as it could've been should Yogi leave? Certainly not. Will it still be in good shape? Yeah. Robert Johnson is a very capable PG. Zeisloft can back him up. Everything will be ok regardless of what Yogi decides. But all the same pray that he comes back. This team could be scary good if he comes back.

    Cream and Crimson game

The defense, especially the defensive line looked better than I expected. Seemed to always get a decent push into the backfield. Solid QB pressure as well. 10 'sacks' on the day (Since you can't hit the QBs they're ruled down if you get close to them). Darius Latham is HUGE. Must've put on 20-30 lbs since last year. Tegray was a beast as always. Fant seems to have one of the starting CB positions locked down. Defense had a couple big hits, one fumble caused, and a highlight reel INT by Latham. Hard to tell too much by the spring practice but this defense has some playmakers now. They don't give up huge chunks of yardage and they may get some pressure on QBs this year. They may end up being middle of the pack B1G which would be a huge step up for this squad. Both Devine Redding and Brookins (sp?) looked great at the RB spot. Both good one cut runners with decent burst, especially Devine, and good instincts. Devine looks to be a solid blocker as well. For anyone who was worried about it Sudfeld looks fine. No rust. Good zip on the ball and solid decision making. Sud really has a handle on fade routes. Great placement on all his attempts to the end zone. Oh and the best news of all - the WRs were CATCHING the balls thrown to them. What a revelation compared to last year. Harris and Cobbs especially had good hands. One special teams note - RS Freshman Joseph Gedeon was BOOMING some punts. About 50 yards and nice hangtime. As I understand it he has some consistency issues but he has to have the biggest leg of all the punters on the team. Lots of potential. Keep an eye out for him.

OFFICIAL: Ferrell returns for Senior Season

Not typical of Yogi to do something like this. He can make whatever choice he thinks is best for him and I'll appreciate him as a Hoosier regardless. However, I also want him to go out without controversy. Seems like in doing this the only way he goes out without at least a bit of ill will is if he stays for his senior year.

    Starting 5 as of Today

Hanner was playing well once he was completely healthy last year. I still see him as a starter. IMO he could be the difference between a good IU team and a great one. Just needs more consistency.

Don't get me wrong, I like NZ quite a bit and I expect him to get PT. But I also hope we move away from small ball a bit and at least towards the end of the year play a more traditional lineup. If we do that AND shorten the rotation I think NZ is the odd man out. He'll get some minutes but not many. In that scenario, that is.

(2015) C Caleb Swanigan to MSU

Would've rather he gone to Cal or even Purdue. Michigan State is loaded for next year.

Yep. Who saw Collin playing the role he did? Especially coming off an ACL tear.

Crean normally works with a longer rotation. Last year towards the end he stuck with a group of 8, which is what you want, but it was also due more to necessity than anything. If he does go back to the 8 man rotation what does it look like? My guess is Yogi, JBJ, Rojo, Troy, Hanner, Bryant, Collin, and Holt. Although I hope Morgan can break into the rotation. He has a lot of potential.

    Starting 5 as of Today

Yogi JBJ Troy Hanner Bryant Rojo first off the bench. Followed by Collin, Holt, Zeis, Morgan, OG. Not listing DD right now because I have no idea where he'll be at by the start of the season.

What are expectations for this program?

Make the dance 9 years out of every ten. Have a team good enough to win it all 4 or 5 times a decade.

    NCAA Tournament Talk

Iu might be gelling at the right time. Troy looks more beastly all the time and our shooters are finding their groove. Also, health. Once Hanner is at 100% we'll be as healthy as we've been all year. I'm optimistic heading towards the tournament but obviously one bad matchup will take us out.

The fans aren't going to the games?

That picture is from 10 minutes before the Pitt game. Yes, attendance lately has been poor, especially with the recent weird start times and crazy cold weather. But it hasn't been atrocious. I think most of the attendance-driven ire has been directed towards the students. It's at least somewhat warranted.
