    Prediction League Week 15 RESULTS

Wow! I was pretty close (63-58). Wish I would have started participating sooner!
  3. Wiscy is hot and looking for revenge. I just don't think the Creanster can slay the Grinch 2 times in a row. We keep it close, but Wiscy pulls away late..   UW - 70 IU - 57
  4. Call up the UK fans! Those damn blue-bloods are at it again with their court storming! I bet BBN is in outrage right now!!

    North Carolina storms the court!!!

Duke definitely gets the court stormed against them more than anyone. It seems just about anyone in the ACC who beats them at home will storm.

    Scouting a potential Crean replacement

I wouldn't be so sure Miles wouldn't accept if offered. If you look at his record he hasn't stayed at schools very long and has turned programs around very quickly. IU is a destination job that he could feel comfortable leading for years. He is currently in a 7 year deal with Neb, so that mixed with Crean's buyout could eventually get in the way.
  9. Hoosiers 69 Hawkeyes 64 then lose to Northwestern.. because that's just how this team works.

    Joe Lunardi Bracketology

The bubble IS very weak. He had Florida State in the last time I looked, and their resume is just as bad as ours with their best wins coming over UMass and VCU compared to ours over Michigan and Wiscy. I'm not getting any hopes up though after last nights disaster.

    Scouting a potential Crean replacement

Crean will be here for at least another year. If Noah comes back and they have another top 10 caliber season like last year he will be here for even longer. With that said, I am pretty much expecting him to fail at this point. Stevens isn't leaving Boston barring something very unusual, so just forget that. A lot of people bring up Shaka but I would pass on that immediately. The one guy I really would like to see is Greg Marshall. However, he is a Stevens/Smart type of mid-major coach. It would take A LOT to get him to leave Wichita State. I didn't even think about Jim Crews until I read another poster mentioning him. 2 names that I have had in mind for a while now are Fred Hoiberg at Iowa State and Greg Lansing at Indiana State. If you watched the ISU-Wichita game last week you would have seen an exceptional coaching job done by Lansing. He drew up plays that put ISU in a position to win that game. A few missed layups, and missed free throws doomed them in the end, but that was on the players not on the coach.... And we know by now how important a late-game coach is.... And also, Josh Pastner??? GTFO!! He beat his FIRST top 25 team this year. They are ranked in the top 10 preseason every year, and it has taken him this long to finally beat somebody good!
  12. Hoosiers - 77 Purdouche - 71 (OT)

DickieV wants IU vs. pUKe back.

I honestly couldn't care less if we play pUKe or not. My main concern is that they schedule a quality home and home to replace it (doubt it happens though, I mean that was 2 years ago) Arizona, Kansas, Georgetown, UConn, UCLA, Florida, OK State, Marquette... anything like that. The OOC was atrocious this year, especially the home schedule. With a young team like this it really hurt our tourney chances by not giving them even a chance at beating a quality team at home before conference play.

    Biggest Loss from Last season

Vic was the best player and obviously a huge loss, but Jordy's 3-bombs would have helped this team a TON. Watford too for that matter.

    NCAA Tournament?

Everybody keeps talking about the Northwestern and Nebraska losses hurting us, but our worst loss RPI wise is Notre Dame. I don't think there are really any bad losses in the Big Ten this year because any team can beat any other team in the conference on any given night. I think we're about 50/50 right now on getting to the tournament. This game against Minnesota is HUGE though. Not only would it give us a quality road win that we are severely lacking, but it is also is a chance to beat out another team that the Hoosiers could potentially be vying for a final spot with in their only meeting this year with the Gophers. My main concern, ultimately, is that our lack of absolutely anything in the non-con will screw us ala Iowa last season.

Halfway Point: Who's Your Final Four?

There are so many capable teams this year and it's really hard to pick at this point in the year. I think that Kansas and Michigan State(at full strength) are the best teams in the country.   So for that reason I'll put those 2 in.   I'll go with Kansas, MSU, Syracuse, Creighton (gotta love Dougie) I need to wait on Arizona to see how they play without Ashley. They're still very talented, but that has to hurt.

    Court Rushing Etiquette

This. Beating a #1 undefeated rival after 3 years of basketball hell was completely worthy of a court storm. Beating a #3 team just one year after IU was Big Ten champs and a #1 seed? Not worthy. This isn't Iowa State. This is Indiana. Now I'm not all up in arms about this or anything but I would prefer they don't storm in that situation.

    # of Indiana teams to make the tourney?

That would be a damn shame if no Indiana teams get in. I honestly don't think either IU or Purdue has a shot. Butler probably has the best chance. Don't count out Indiana State either. My gut says 2 teams - Butler and Notre Dame.

    Starting 5?

First post on this site: At this point, I would say: Yogi Evan Will Noah Luke With Troy, Stan, Hollowell, Perea, and Davis first off the bench. I love Troy, but he's had a hard time finding consistency in the early going. I think he could provide a big spark off the bench as a 6th man like Sheehey has done the last 3 years. As for putting Fischer in the starting 5, I think our size inside is our biggest advantage and having 2 legitimate post players in would work out well. Yogi and Evan is a pretty small back court but I think it's still our best option.
