Some guy on ESPN was kind of dissing Crean tonight

Gottlieb has always had it in for Indiana. Zeller's FR year he repeatedly talked about how they couldn't win on the road and how they weren't a top program. I don't disagree necessarily with his comments last night, but the guy has always had it in for IU.   I do think that he has gotten a little less douchey since he moved from ESPN to CBS. He's not as much of a contrarian as he was when he was working for ESPN. However, that seemed like a definite opportunity to take a shot at Crean when mentioning him at all was not necessary.

Predictions for tonight's games??? I like Michigan, Iowa State, Louisville, and Michigan State. MSU v UVA will be game of the night, but ISU v UConn is the hardest to pick with Niang out and Napier's ability to take over a game.

I'm guessing this had to be Gottlieb on TBS because that is almost exactly what he said. Unless someone on ESPN has it in for Indiana too..

I can't stand Gottlieb either, but he was talking about Dayton's gameplan against the Stanford zone after having a week to prepare and comparing it to IU's gameplan against Cuse last year with a week to prepare. Syracuse's zone last year was definitely a lot tougher than this years Stanford team though.

Yeah I do too. I'm hoping all 3 teams at least get to the Elite 8. MSU has the toughest challenge but I think they'll all pull it off. Wiscy could give Zona fits. I actually enjoy watching this Wisconsin team. They don't have as many ogres and gingers this year.

Gottlieb just ripped on Crean. He was talking about the Dayton game and Archie Miller's game plan against the zone. He brought up the Syracuse IU game from last year and how they struggled against the zone and pointed out that Archie Miller is "much younger" than Crean.

Tough break there for Zona. Nick Johnson's halfcourt buzzer beater just a tad late.

Obviously we're all diehard IU fans here, but do any of you have a few of those other teams that you just find yourselves rooting for? Over the last few years San Diego State has been one of those teams for me. I like Steve Fisher a lot and this team in particular is REALLY good. Looking good so far against AZ. Hope they can pull it off!

If Crean doesn't work out and in a year or two Archie Miller is still at Dayton, they better go after him!!

SMU fans stormed too last night after beating Cal. That one makes a little more sense because of Larry Brown and being excited about the program... but come on.... who storms the court in the NIT???   Oh yeah that's right... Robert Morris :D

I love the way Dayton plays.

Who would you hire to replace CTC?

I love Hoiberg and would take him in a second but I don't think he'll leave Iowa State. He played there and it is home to him. I think Iowa State could be the next major power to rise in the coming years. Obviously Brad Stevens would be ideal but who knows what his NBA career will hold.   2 names that I would love even if they aren't attainable: Archie Miller and Gregg Marshall. Crean isn't going anywhere though so this doesn't really matter anyway.

    K***** S****** to Houston?

Rumor has it that the University of Houston is looking at hiring Kelvin Samsung. I read through the comments on the ESPN article and a lot of Houston fans were clamoring for, wait for it.... Mike Davis. Which move seems the smartest? Samsung is a better coach but is just as likely to take them to the tournament as he is to take them to the death penalty. I think we all knew that KS would end up coaching in college again, and I honestly feel this might be a good fit. He's already in Houston and Houston is a program with some history and tradition but also with relatively low expectations.

    OT: Shaka Smart to Marquette?

This was my thought too. The Big East really suffered I think by Brad Stevens leaving. Marquette and Georgetown with down years and that league was pretty disappointing this year. The ACC is going to be loaded for the foreseeable future with UNC, Duke, Cuse, UofL, Pitt, Miami, ND, etc.

    OT: Shaka Smart to Marquette?

Shaka Smart is the most overrated coach in college basketball. I wonder if Luke Fischer is pissed that Buzz is leaving.
