Oh I agree. I just meant in a perfect world, if the rivalry HAD been still going, they wouldn’t have thought twice about scheduling us and us them, had this happened in a different scenario. But as it is, you’re right…if they don’t want it (AKA Calipari being “they” as I’m sure the boosters as well as the AD and definitely the fans), then oh well. It’s just hard to reconcile since as a kid in the 80’s and 90’s the IU-UK rivalry was the biggest thing going here in southern Indiana. I remember those “Big 4” games well. Now THAT would be an epic replacement for the Crossroads Classic (but Kansas is amazing too).

It’s just utter garbage it’s not a rivalry anymore. I feel like the mutual hatred runs so deep that every game is competitive and has a lot of stakes. The Purdue rivalry has (let’s face it) not been a rivalry for awhile, but I have a feeling we’d play pUKe pretty close and win at least half the time (considering our recent record of 2-1). But aside from everything else, based on a monetary standpoint alone, why they don’t get it going again is bizarre.

I strictly meant WKU vs. us…it’s a travesty there have been openings in their schedule and they haven’t tried to reach out in some way.

Kentucky scheduled Western Kentucky in place of Louisville. Cowards.

100%. No love lost here, it's about 5 years past time to move on from this event and get back to the big stage where we belong (even with our record our revenue is still ridiculous) -

That means we are the best team in Indiana right? RIGHT? -

Not at the game. Funeral of a family member. -

Well Game 1 was a boring blowout which means Game 2 is going to be a tight game with a thousand lead changes and OT. -
Hear me out: IU cancels the Crossroads Classic and goes to Vegas to play UK at the last minute. Ratings would go through the roof.

“Their (Wisconsin’s) only good second half was that second half against Indiana.” Ugh.

Those First National Band albums are great. He was underrated for helping to popularize country rock along with The Byrds.

Dig Quinones’ shorts.

Memphis is on FIRE.

Welp, Baylor still retakes #1 this week.

PUke and pUKe lose and IU wins. That’s the weekend trifecta, folks. Takes a touch of the sting out of the Wisky loss (not much but some).

Some thoughts here, as I live in Louisville: Their AD just resigned, the fans are turning on Mack, cries of “never should’ve fired Pitino” are loud, and for as much money as the school pours into athletics (because it sure as hell ain’t academics), it’s a friggin’ mess.

Have a feeling Lander might enter the transfer portal after this season. I don’t think Woodson has any interest in playing him much, especially after what he just said at the post game presser. -

Apparently me refusing to watch IU play in the Kohl Center is working out well for everyone. I will continue what I was doing. Carry on. -
Nebraska at Indiana Game Thread - Noon on BTN

This board is hilarious. It’s all great and Woody is the answer even in close wins to bad teams (“they’ve got fight”) until IU loses one 2OT game against a desperate team, then we start worrying about Nebrasketball. The team HAS shown a lot, but everyone is (naturally) afraid of the next game. Why? Because Crean’s final years and Archie Miller’s garbage have wreaked havoc on our collective consciousness. If anything, this team will improve, but it’s hard for anyone to accept that because of the regression in recent years. It’s exhausting, on and off this particular board. -

They’ll clean up the turnovers, a lot of season left. Woody should apply some contact cement to their hands and throw the ball to them at a distance. Only problem would be passing it back, but hey maybe a ball stuck to their hands would do them some good. -
2021/2022 Men’s Basketball Season
NOLA Hoosier replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I’d be thrilled with that record. I honestly think it’s pretty realistic, too. Way too early to say anything, but if they are who we think they are my amateur prediction is at least a Round of 32. -
Have you heard This Mortal Coil's covers of "Kangaroo" and "Holocaust" (both from the same album)? I mean, Chilton basically invented goth so it's only natural. Gris-Gris is one of the creepiest albums to drive around NOLA at night listening to. It's also one of the best New Orleans records because it was recorded in LA (a lot like Paul's Boutique being a quintessential NYC record for the same reason...not to mention REM's Life's Rich Pageant being extremely Georgia because it was recorded in Indiana). I love everything Nick Drake ever did. I'm a huge fan. I can't listen to Berlin more than once or twice a year. Just so damn heavy.
