It's 3 AM at the bar and Crean has his beer goggles on. -
Yes, the FORUM is certainly that. This thread, however, is a specific topic on Trey Lyles and his status at UK. Please feel free to create yet another Crean thread or continue one of the many others.

What does being the "top assistant" entail? From everything I've heard, KJ is a solid recruiter with little to value as an X&O guy or teacher of the game. -
What's a college athlete worth?

Yes, or expand the D-League instead of using college ball as the minor leagues. -

Parallels to Crean? SB Nation expose on SEC football bag men

Is this supposed to be a reply to my post? I was talking about recruiting players for 2014 this late when all the big names are gone. -
Parallels to Crean? SB Nation expose on SEC football bag men
ElectricBoogaloo replied to raorIU's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's hard to be an ace recruiter for the 2014 class at this point in the process. We will definitely see how he does with the 2015 class though. -
Maybe Bluiett didn't like our roster being stacked with wings previously? That's certainly not an issue now after all the transfers. Plenty of PT available.

Yogi Ferrel's future.
ElectricBoogaloo replied to SWEETLEMONbrown's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yes, I should have been more clear. I wasn't saying Yogi is 6'3", I was talking about Rose. Yogi is 5'11" at best. -
Yogi Ferrel's future.
ElectricBoogaloo replied to SWEETLEMONbrown's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
All good points. PGs are getting bigger in the NBA and Yogi's height certainly does not help him. 6'3" is small for a PG these days (Derrick Rose's height). Yogi's assist to turnover ratio last year was 1.5. That is not going to cut it in the league and really hurt us this past year although he was somehow the best. Every scholarship player besides Yogi and Gordon had an A:TO ratio less than one. That is staggering, and I needed Oscar Pistorius' puke bucket after looking at the stats. Team A:TO was 0.76... *runs to puke bucket again* http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/stats/_/id/84/indiana-hoosiers -

It's a pipe dream, but I would absolutely take him in the post next year for IU. -

Hold on there. We don't want him hitting Crean if coach gets too close to the basket. -

Wisconsin only loses Brust? That is depressing unless Dekker leaves early. Three Michigan players should be declaring soon I imagine (GRIII, Stauskas, McGary). -
(2014) C Link Kabadyundi to TCU
ElectricBoogaloo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Why is everyone so excited about this guy? He has size, sure, but I don't even think the ranking services have heard of him. -
I don't disagree with the points laid out here, but there is obviously some weighting that needs to be done. In terms of college bball success, as I believe most people generally interpret it, winning games is a much bigger part of overall success than the other three factors. If "win 'dem basketball games" isn't at least 80% weighted for high Division I basketball then there is a problem. For Cal, I'd say it's weighted about 99% toward winning games and the UK fan base is fine with that. We can say the IU fan base cares more in general about the other factors, but then I would guess winning games should be weighted conservatively (maybe VERY conservatively) at 85% in the overall measure of success.
-
Will you elaborate how you define success? To call him successful at UK after winning a national championship and coaching in multiple final fours is unassailable.

The end goal is not a BIG title. It's Indiana. We have five banners on the wall. Tournament success is an expectation. -
I saw that and hoped it was a recruiting trip. :(

It should be easier to back out of a signed LOI if the coach leaves, right?
