What will it take to win #6
ElectricBoogaloo replied to BottomLine's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It will take a coach with a winning formula (and there are many different ways to do it) who recruits/develops guys who can play to that formula. It takes consistent success that results in high tournament seeds year after year. After that, it's a dice roll in the tournament. You have better odds on the roll with a high seed but the only way to do it is getting as many rolls as possible with as good of odds as you can manage. -
(2019) SG Lester Quinones to Memphis
ElectricBoogaloo replied to ap2345's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
That'a a nice spin but he also took down the photo of him in an Indiana jersey that was posted yesterday. I don't think there is any positive connotation in what he said. -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

I also remember we brought Moretti on campus for a workout and never offered. That was a miss. -
I agree on the lack of player development / team development we saw this year. Outside of Durham, there didn’t seem to be much improvement anywhere.

This is the kind of long answer worth reading. Thank you.

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
ElectricBoogaloo replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This is also turning into a talent evaluation issue for the staff. Damezi and Jake are two guys in Miller’s first class who couldn’t find any way to contribute. How are we identifying Big Ten players? Edit: talent evaluation AND development both -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
ElectricBoogaloo replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Damn, I really liked Jake’s energy and toughness when he was on the court. But I get it. The depth chart isn’t looking good for him. This roster needs a talent overhaul. If a guy like Jake who has real effort can’t find a spot then we better get some consistent effort from the returning guys who played with zero interest many games. -

If that's the case, I hope the changes aren't only to the players. -
On the plus side you don't have to buy socks in LA.

Yes but all the records will be destroyed when he sinks the biz. -
Damn! I knew he was good but I didn't think he was draft worthy yet.

2019 April Evaluation Period
ElectricBoogaloo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Indiana Elite 2020 squad will be one to watch: Leal, Galloway, Lander (playing up a year). Hopf, Kaufman, and BTB darling Luke Brown on the 2021 squad. -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
ElectricBoogaloo replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He was a freshman outside the top 100. He will need time to adjust. I don't see why we would give up on a guy that soon unless the staff just made a really bad evaluation of him in high school. -
Gonzaga, perennial winners of a fake conference, are eliminated. They should never be a 1 seed.

Fred Glass Retiring
ElectricBoogaloo replied to southernindianahoosier2's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
You disagree with a lot of posters here but this is a point I hope a lot of people agree on. This was NOT a rebuild. Despite Fred near the end of our losing streak saying, "Oh yeah, by the way this is a rebuild." No it's not, Fred. -
Excellent Goldmember reference.

Wow- that was absolutely NOT a foul on Edwards. Refs trying to keep Purdue in the game.

It's been in the recruiting threads (2019 general recruiting I think).

The Season Is Finally Over, Now Where Does This Program Go?
ElectricBoogaloo replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Now that the season is over, I can focus on my Chicago White Sox. Well, let's check in on the team here and... OH GOD... OH GOD WHAT IS THIS... NO THIS DOESN'T LOOK GOOD AT ALL. Please IUBB come back soon. -
NIT Quarterfinal Game Thread - IU vs. Wichita State | Tuesday @ 7:00PM on ESPN
ElectricBoogaloo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That is an indictment of the coaching staff. No wonder we lost 12 of 13 BIG games if we aren’t making any adjustments or taking advantage of halftime to talk. -

The recent Brian Snow podcast that everyone has been talking about included a tidbit about Snow talking to Holtmann (while he was still Butler's coach) about if he would ever take the IU job. Holtmann's response was along the lines of, "No it's too much of a fishbowl there." Snow was quick to point out that abstractedly discussing the IU job is MUCH different than being a serious candidate courted by the university but it gives you a glimpse into his thoughts on the job. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
ElectricBoogaloo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Too many homers in the IUBB media. It's ridiculous that nobody asked about Romeo. Even if you don't think you'll get a good answer, you still ask the question. Bozich and the rest are so scared of losing their press passes that they won't take even a chance of upsetting the program.
